Australian GTO, they make those? I thought we hade the "American" version of the Australian Monaro... Well that is just what I thought. If you like to get ahold of one then go over seas and see if you can freight one over if you got the money.

Yea, I'm pretty sure you would have to import one. And wasn't the 05 have monaro badged with some GTO badging? Sorry it's late and I may be wrong.

II see your not that far away from the NorCal crew. Come to an event and I'm sure the guys and girls can explain what we have and what you can do if you want it to look original before Pontiac made its changes.

One of my favorite conversions was Marco. Someone can post a link to one of his picture threads.

When I was going to work in Australia the woman I interviewed with wanted to know what I was going to do about transportation. I said I would either take my car or buy one over there. I was told to take mine I would have to pay a tax that was something like 80% of what my car cost new. It was an 86 T/A at the time. It was 1990. When I said I would buy one she told me to expect
To pay about $25 k for a Mercury Capri that was from the 80's and would be what I would consider to be a clunker. Just to go back and forth to work. No sightseeing in the country side or to use for any long excursions. Renting a 2 be apt would be close to 3k a month. Needless to say I went
To AZ instead.

That's because the US Dollar isn't worth shit anymore.

You take a $60K AUD price and convert that to USD at .96 a piece, you're looking at $62,500. Go back to 2004 when the conversion ratio was 1.4, you're looking at $42,850. That's why vendors like JHP are so expense. It's not their fault our currency isn't worth the paper it's printed on anymore.

Another reason is the Monaro and all its variations were low production volume cars. We got a deal in the US because Pontiac ordered a bunch of them all at once.
