If it isn't going on a grand sport then I wouldn't worry about correct geometry

Do 'em in vinyl. Low cost - looks like paint - easily reveresible or to convert to paint later.

Those stripes look bad enough on a Corvette.

They don't belong on a GTO, so you don't really need "correct dimensions" anyway. You're worried about them looking "stupid"?

Just because they are spaced out the exact same distance, that they are spaced on a totally different car, with totally different contours and dimensions, doesn't mean they are going to look right on the GTO

Just mask them off and paint them however you like them

If you check on amazon, they have the gs stripes for our cars. You could buy them and use them as a template.

The fender line is way too cool to cover up with a stripe imo

why don't you spend money on parts to actually make your car faster, instead of just looking faster?

just sayin.

then again, i guess $5 otherwise saved on a can of plastidip won't buy you much actual performance otherwise. put it towards a gallon of premium gasoline and a candy bar from the gas station.

This guy has done it. If he tries it and doesn't like it then its gone or he may want to keep it.

I have mixed emotions on them, but as many have mentioned in other threads before, "it's your car, so do as you want with it."

If I were to make a suggestion, I'd also say to go with plasti-dip. You can buy it in many different colors now and it's very easy to remove. The hardest part is masking everything off to get the correct pattern.

Hard to beat flat black on PBM, IMHO. Subtle, but noticeable with whatever striping you may be trying. Or, match them to your wheels.

"Hash marks" actually do have a functional history in racing from the old days ... arguably to make the team faster by being able to see which team car was coming into the pits from a greater distance. So they can make you faster

Your car, your call. But, FWIW I can not understand adding something to one car that is strongly associated with another model, brand, etc. All I see with GS stripes is a Corvette wannabe.

Shaker scoop and a full on firebreathing chicken on the hood is popular as well. All the girlies dig that.

Don't forget the "type 'R' " badge on the decklid. And the side skirts. And under the fender badges. And anywhere elese you can cram one.

Ever thought of making your mirrors black? I think that would complete your look.

Black roof maybe, too. But that might be overdoing it.
