Good stuff.

And mighty nice of the police...

Police allowed the drivers of some of the cars — the ones with low clearance and ground effects — to follow their tow trucks to the impound yard to avoid damage.

hmmm I wonder how fast they were driving, or why fella made a u-turn?

Plus are the videos out of their cars useable as evidence?

Rally routes will now be held in WV where it is legal to speed......lol or we can all get out on those backroads and travel at 25 mph and piss off the local red neck truckers.

I went on a cruise with Capital City G8 this fall. Event was advertised as a family cruise to see the changing leaves and end with lunch. It was my first event with the club, we were out on the skyline.

The whole event turned into a high speed AUTO-X through the mountains that ended with a MASSIVE crash taking out an innocent family and their dog. I was at the back of the pack along with some others that were taken by surprise that a 'family' outing turned into a race through the mountains. When we pulled up on the wreck and saw the cars we all thought someone had to of died.

Luckily only concussions.

I imagine this crack down is tied to that event as I am sure the locals were pissed that no one was arrested from our cruise.

Even though I wasn't involved in the wreck and only pulled up on it after a large crowd had gathered I was extremely fearful of this exact situation. Where they would impound everyone's car and charge us with reckless driving, a misdemeanor.

Once you experience this you realize it is NOT worth it.

Yeah, I was under the impression the last thing you want to do is high speed auto x with several vehicles..

Especially with older gentlemen I thought they cruise to the track then spank each other there..Still surprised all 15 got written up / towed, I would hate to be the crash that hit a family and gave them all concussions...

Did you guys see the follow up link with the two vette in texas getting 10 years for crashing into each other drag racing in a neighborhood? I think that was a little much..

There is a jihad on this type of activity by police. Not worth it.

And I am confident they wrote them all up because of what happened on the G8 cruise.

HOLY SHIT. I literally just read about that and it's absolutely ridiculous. 10 years and $10k in fines, each. That's an absolutely absurd punishment for street racing. After hearing that, all of a sudden street racing doesn't really seem like a good idea any more... Not that it ever was to begin with, but on a clear and empty highway I've gotten in to a few tussles with people. Not anymore.

This is because its easier to go after people who arent really criminals and have some net worth they can confiscate.

Good luck getting a "street racing" ticket in PA/DE/MD. I am sure everyone that gets caught racing around here gets a speeding ticket. It's what happened to me. Still lost my license though....gotta have fun sometimes, get it out of your system when you are young.

..yeah not in texas, you get 10 years of prison time. As if $10,000 in fines wasn't enough.

I was supposed to go on that G8 cruise but overslept; probably a good thing. I was curious about how it would go because I'd seen video of the Mischief.tv guys tearing it up on one of their cruises.

Damn... 10 years. Back when I was younger I ran close to 150 on the street a few times. How stupid was that. As I get older, the consequences of that kinda stuff sinks in more. I'll keep my mountain drives to more remote areas and do more track days to have my fun.

Sent from my swagged out HTC Evo 4G
