New Interior Eye Candy

Installed my new Aeroforce Interceptor Gauges in the SCSS Gator pod yesterday. I am very pleased so far. Fit and finish on the pod is perfect. The minor trimming on the console was simple with my dremel. Only part that sucked was my dumbass dropping a screw in the dash that took 30 minutes and a little ingenuity to get out. Gauges were a plug and play and seem to do everything as advertised. Scrolling thru the menus for set up is kind of a pain but I shouldn't have to do that again. I ordered the satin bezels and black faces with the GTO logos. I think it really completes the interior and looks like they belong.

Nice!

My GTO was built in May of 2006, so I didn't have the optional plug for the gauges. I bought a stock plug from a GTO that had one, but later chose not to splice it into my harness. I'm really not too good when working with electronics, and I usually have negative luck when working with them, so I opted-out.

Aeroforce gauges plug into the OBD-II port under the dash. All cars have it.

These plug into the obd2 port. No wiring whatsoever. Im not a fan of splicing factory wiring either.

Shiny!!! Looks good.

Question-If you unplug them from the OBD2 port say to read a code, will you have to set them up again, or do they retain your previous config?

They also read codes. If you unplug them they go right back to the configuration you set them at.

Ok. Never really though too much about them as some of the other installs I've seen didn't look like they were OEM equipment. This one does however, which makes it much more appealing to me.

If you want to keep the OBDII port available and run your Aeroforce gauges at the same time there are a number of OBDII splitter or "Y" cables available.

Nice! Very interested in this set up. Can one controll the brightness of these guages either by using the factory brightness knob on the dash. or is there another method of adjusting brightness??

I like how it's backlit green like the instrument cluster, although a little brighter (maybe just pic)? not into more "GTO" in the car, but the red matches your cluster, so that's cool.

Wouldn't mind something like that, but not even going to ask the price, lol....Can this work on 2004's also, being they are non-CAN, or maybe that doesn't make a difference here, hopefully?

Would such a splitter/Y cable allow one to connect HPTuners (Tune/Log) and still have the AeroForce functioning at the same time? If so, appreciate a link.

I ask, because I've been under the impression that was not possible.

Sorry for the slow response I am not subscribed to this thread.

To be honest I am not sure. There are many of them listed on ebay for less than $20 shipped if you enter "OBDII splitter cable" into the search box so why not give it a go?

Brightness setting is built into the gauge.

I was looking into this as well, though I also was under the impression that CANBUS only allowed one connecting device at a time. I've got one of those Y-splitters ordered. If it doesn't work, I'll probably look into making a switch.

Love the gauges, only downfall is the display is almost non-existent after sitting in the sun for a few hours.

So far this is not true. Mine have been in the Texas heat everyday since installed and I have not noticed any fade or washout on the displays.
