Ever see the port size on the LS7 heads?

14k at peak is not much, but you are not looking at the torque curve either being equal to the LS7 below 4k. Which doesnt mean much if you are racing as you wont be that low in the rpm band much.

Not sure why you asked this question. You will take out one cam to put in another, the weight of the car will be the same.

After reading your response to my posts, I went and slammed my forehead into a wall. Hoping that I'd be able to follow your thought process afterwards.

You asked "Do cams weigh 40 lbs??" I dont see you quoting anyone so your question is just out there. I answered that it doesnt matter.

What is your intention with that question? Sorry that I cant follow why you asked that.

Regarding the port size, have you looked at both and compared the LT1 to the LS7? Just curious.

The cam in the LS7 isnt that huge either, cam swap for cam swap my money is on the LS7 as it just has more cubic inches.

My comment about the hp, the peak is only 14 (which really 20 because the flipper flapper bullshit exhaust do not give any power) but the torque and HP curve (I left that out, sorry) are better than the outgoing LS3. But, the big improvement is below 4k....but if you are racing it doesnt mean much. But for the normal person on the street the added torque down low will be a nice addition if you are used to the LS3.

What is so hard to understand about what I wrote?

Cam swap in a 7.0 liter engine > Cam swap in a 6.2 liter engine

As for the C7 out lapping the C6Z, if I'm driving it's no surprise, I've never driven on a roadcourse in all my life, so believe me when I say I truly don't give a shit. A well versed driver in a 370Z is going to kick my ass. I can assure you in straight line the C7 is not beating a C6Z, so for my money, I'll take the C6Z.

Still. With the box of rape. You're not getting it.

Yes, I've looked at the port size on an LS7. The LT1 heads are better in every way.

Ok, what is the intake flow, valve size and exhaust flow on each of them? Only asking because I dont know and am curious.

What else am I supposed to get? You think the heads are going to make up for the 51 cubic inchess less in engine size? LS7 and LT1 with the same cam profiles will not produce the same amount of power. The LS3 and the LT1 cam in my eyes are not that much smaller than the LS7.

Why are you being such a dick to me, did I do something to you today to call for this? I dont think so and not sure what your problem is.

They may very well be better, the problem is, they are still sitting on 6.2L block.

All these engines are making about the same HP/Liter. In which case the 6.2 needs more than 20-30 extra ponies from super cool heads.

Never mind that you keep coming back to the idea that what one should do is mod the C7 and claim victory when he beats a stock C6Z. That's gay right from the start. Modded LS7's are throwing 550 to the wheels, you're not going to get there in a 6.2L without boost. Add in that the C7 may be 100 pounds heavier and C7 guy has a real problem on his hands.

Seriously though, just watched it and will say it is looking much better now. Still don't like red, but will say the car will grow on me, I'm sure.

Yes, it makes sense. LS7 > LT1 in my mind. Unless you can show me the heads making up the extra cubes the LS7 has.

It's not just the heads man. It's the whole package. Just wait. I have a feeling the output of these LT1s will be pretty impressive.

I dont doubt that. The heads may have similar port size but doubting the valves are smaller but the exhaust flow wont be any better. Direct injection is a plus for the LT1 but what size TB does each use?

I am looking at the total package.

Do you have a side by side comparison of all aspects? TB, runner flow, port intake, valve size, CC chamber, exhaust port. I just would like to see how they stack up.

Numbers don't exist yet. If they did, they'd be on the board already.
Shit, GM's pulling a Ford. They won't even finalize the HP and TQ numbers publicly yet.

I just have a good feeling about this motor. $0.02

I am hoping it turns out to be a good runner. My only thought of issues comes down to how most Corvettes are driven. We all know most new ones go to old smurfers who never break 2k rpms or 60 mph. lol Direct injection is known to cause build up on the valves if babied.

I really cant say how good it iwll be till I see all the numbers for the total package. Willing to bet the engine is closer to 470/470 hp/tq rather than the 450 numbers given.
