"new wheels" BBS RC090

I put my "new" wheels on for a little test fit. The are BBS Style 5's. I still need to restore the wheels, lower the coilovers, roll the fender lips, buy new tires, and the BBS red/gold center caps I want are on back order for a month.

I have center caps for the wheels but they have bmw roundels on them so I didn't put them on with the wheels

But here are some preliminary pics.

I really don't think BBS looks good on these GTO's.

"new wheels" BBS RC090

I think it looks ok, as long as you like it. More importantly, where are you and what's going on with those cars? It looks like an abandoned MR2 and something I can not begin to guess what it is. Do people abandon cars in that lot? Any dead bodies?

They look too small to me for some reason. I kind of like them, but they'd need to be bigger

My stock 98 Grand Prix came with those wheels which I promptly got rid of. But nice to see that other enthusiasts in the GTO community like to upgrade to that style of wheels.

Crank the camber up front, powder coat them something darker than silver and they *might* look good.

Hmm, the rims now require some other appearance mod to close it together. Lower the car, yes. Tint tail lights maybe? Reinstall spoiler? Lip spoiler? Front splitter? Looks naked with all the silver. Not knocking the look, just say the rims may necessitate something else to complete the look. Maybe if the tinted windows were up it would have had a different effect.

How much weight saved?

Haha. No it's the back lot at my school's inovation center. I'm not sure who's MR2 that is and the other thing is weird as hell.

I'm still not convinced to get sap grills.

Looking at it now I should be riding a lot lower with the right tires. I just can't clear with the poke on the current nearly dead tires.

I may plastidip them black just to try out the look.

I am planning on getting the Goldilocks splitter, eventually I will get the HSV rear window spoiler and JHP lip spoiler.

I don't know except from carrying the wheels and the bbs's feel a lot lighter. But honestly weight isn't a huge deal to me with 300+ lbs in the trunk.

Hopefully I can counteract that with Camber and once its lowered more.

haha I was going to drive up on them so I could fit my jack under the car that is if I hadn't remembered my dorm neighbor had a bunch of plywood in his room. Which I did. So no ghetto shit here.

Yep here is a topish view slightly turned. They still poke a lot but hopefully it should clear well with some sidewall stretch.

They are only 8 inches wide now. I hate running such narrow tires on a car like this but for clearance while slammed (until I get the barrels widened) I need the smaller tire.

You're gonna stretch a 205 on an 8" wheel? Why not buy the right sized wheel to begin with?

Because these wheels were the right price and the right look and are perfect in all the other dimensions and having the barrels widened isn't terribly expensive so it does not bother me.
