Version on video is the luxury version. NOT the sport version (which I guess the SS will be based off of).

The interior is really nice.

SS reveal is next weekend at Daytona (already knew that, but figured I'd make sure to post that in here as well).

Luxury version is a bit boring, but I like the lines of the car. The interior seems to be quite gorgeous.

So why post in this thread? How many smurfing doors did you think it would have? 1? 7?

Yeah, exterior is a bit plain. It's the "luxury" version, so the SS should be more aggressive.

I think it looks very good. I really hope the performance models look much more aggressive.

That's my hope, too. I have to think it will, knowing Holden.

My only issue is the name... SS. SS what? Brand recognition is everything and to just go by SS may hurt it sales wise. Look at the Ford 5Hundred. Even though the 500 was a redeux from the 60's, no one could associate to it so sales slumped but once they renamed it the Taurus sales came back up. Same car just new name. Should have either brought back a nostalgic title like Biscane, Bel Aire or a totally new name all together and had SS as a trim level.

Its a nice looking car but I think since they had export in mind when designing it lacks the over the top edge-yness that Holden has become known for with like their HS-V models. We may drool over it but I bet the Aussie's will groan at it. They've have never stopped pushing for and getting great, V8, rear drive, super cars were-as Americans have been force feed ho-hum, front drive econo boxes with squishy suspensions (i.e. our sagging rear springs), manual shifters on par with rowing a boat and enough sound deadening to drown out any hint of what may be happening around you. Maybe we'll get a 2 door at some point which (dare I say) would make a great reboot of the Monte Carlo which was always a luxury/tourer, even before Americans knew what one was.

This looks like more of an 'evolution' of the VE Commodore, especially since they kept the same windows, roof, doors and a-pillars.

Don't get me wrong, I really like it, and am glad they are moving the interior more upscale. I guess they thought they spent a ton of money in developing the VE and realized how good of a thing they had that this time around they didn't feel the need to completely reinvent the car...

With a rumored price of almost if not over $50K, not to mention very limited availability, these cars will be a rare sight on U.S. roads.

I thought the G8 GXP's looked awesome, I will withhold judgement on the new Chevrolet SS until I see it in person.

That wouldn't be too far from the truth, as in China the long-wheelbase Holden Statesman (same as our Caprice PPV) is in fact branded as the Buick Park Avenue... http://www.buick.com.cn/ParkAvenue/index.aspx

Y'all can call me crazy but I SWEAR i saw one of these on the road already, it was a flat grey color, and it looked like a police package, with blacked out wheels and the spotlight by the drivers mirror, almost like the PD was testing one out for future use.... It was in Stafford, VA.......

Why would you comment on a car about it being a sedan when you knew ahead of time it would be a sedan? That's my point. You act like you're shocked it will have four doors when everyone and their mother knew it would have four.

Comment was douchey so I called you out on it.

I'm sure you saw a Caprice. Not the same car (though it is the long wheelbase version of the previous iteration of the Commodore -- the VE).
