I don't dig it. And that's mostly because I'm not a fan of the new Camaro (for practical reasons, because I've actually driven one). So slapping a body kit and some go fast parts on it doesn't feel special to me. Even though our GTOs aren't technically original, at least they were original to the American market.
I guess my point is to just let the Camaro be the Camaro and don't worry about resurecting the GTO name.
Anyway, our cars still look WAY better than that thing.
This is old news, they made this conversion when the camaro first came out. Trans Am Depot also did a Firebird conversion as well, they where bot ugly as sin. It wont be coming out as production. You can have them do one for you for the mere cost of a brand new camaro ss plus 90k........No thanks
This dog is dog, a dog, good dog, way dog, to dog, keep dog, an dog, idiot dog, busy dog, for dog, 30 dog, seconds dog...Now read without the word dog...
When in doubt port everything until you have more metal shavings on the ground than you have material left in the engine[/email]
They had these at the Pontiac show in Pigeon Forge a year or two ago. They were indeed Camaro's with body kits, but the guy did a decent job with them. I wouldn't buy one, but there was nice stitching on the seats and the paint jobs were quality. Unfortunately, the Trans Am looked better than the GTO.

Had not seen this before so thanks, Ray!
Interesting, I'm always intrigued when designers take the features of the past and incorporate them in modern cars. However, doing it subtly is the key in my book. The new Camaro really over did it. The GTO with the big body is not my gig but our cars with subtle references works for me. We have the nostrils on the 05/06 ( also known as CalGoat's favorite) and the emblems, of course, but I kinda like those rear lights in the vid!
Horsepower numbers are just like dick measuring contests. Sure, one guy gets the trophy for having the biggest dick, but it is bulky and his pants don't fit too well, it always dunks into the water when he sits on the toilet, and women find it to be rather uncomfortable during sex so they make him stop, and one day he will realize that all he has is a trophy for ultimately having an otherwise useless penis.

Nope. They need to try and pattern off of the longer edition of the Zeta(?) platform, say the CTS coupe instead. Camaro is too short to look like a GTO. This is unfortunately a "fail"...also would like to see the '65-'67 look or the '70-'72 instead of '68-'69...
