KCGOAT Purchased my '05 in late '04, and have 72K on the odo. It's been my Sat morning only car for the last 8 years. Big fun & lots of memories -

theamcguy Still have mine, ordered in Sep 2004 with delivery in Feb 2005. IIRC when the order bank for the 2005s opened up Pontiac was only taking orders for the Automatics, it was not until Sep that you could order one with a manual.

lynmup After sitting for months in the garage, I finally was able to put her back together and drove her to work yesterday (46 mile one way). I still need to rebuild the front (struts, hubs, ball joints) but I couldn't wait to drive it.

The wife bought some F11 Top Coat for her Jaguar so I borrowed a bit and wow, she shine like new money! I am so glad I did not sell her because driving this car is like owning your own personal roller coaster.

TA455 It's been a while since I posted anything on this forum; but I couldn't resist jumping into this one.

Got my '05 A4 new in April '05. I was 68 years old then. There were a couple of guys on the forum that were older than me; but I doubt that they are still around. I am 82 now.

Still have the car...just drove it today. Still runs and drives like new. It has 23, 000 miles.

There was a lot of rumors going around that supply was going to be very limited. Especially after the train crash that destroyed so many. On the night I went to pick it up there was 10 guys hovering around mine when I arrived. Nobody seemed interested in the red one. After checking it out and all the congrats and hand shacks, one of the dudes offered me $5000.00 to walk away. Since I didn't know if more were coming and all the rumors about shortages and the fact that I had just waited almost 8 months for it I decided to pass on his offer. True story. I paid sticker price which I had agreed to pay and the dealer had agreed to sell me it for. Many paid over sticker at the time so I felt luck about that. I drove it home in a snow storm and it has been through 10 winters as It was my only car for 10 years. I bought the SAP appearance package that included the 05-06 hood, the SAP grills and spoiler. Then I bought the front bumper extension. Painted it and installed all the parts myself. It has an 06 rear bumper and exhaust I had installed after I was rear-ended and got a new rear bumper for free. I asked the body man if he would order the 05-06 bumper instead and he agreed and installed it at no extra charge. I installed 06 tail lights. 35% window tint that is legal here in IL that has saved the front seat and the top of the rear seats that were prone to sun damage. I have owned it for 15 years now and I still love it. It has been a great reliable car.

Good story, I bought mine off lot in March 2004, dealership got 4 GTO's delivered, my friend worked there and he told me there were coming. Silver auto with black interior, silver manual with red interior, yellow manual and black auto. I watched them unload them from car hauler, all 4 cars had 2 miles on them. I really wanted silver with black interior but it was an auto, but picked that one anyway. Dealership let me use by GMS discount, got the GTO for like $31000 or so out the door, that was tax, title, etc. Drove it off the lot with 2 miles on it. 15 years later sitting at 28,000 miles, never seen rain or snow and modified nicely now with heads/cam/fast 102lsxr, rims, banshee hood, etc. Never been in accident or even a speeding ticket in the GTO.

GTOZZ06 My 06 turns 13 on 6/30.
Just over 63k.

IBM / black A4 w/18”s (replaced w/ staggered 18” Drift-R’s). Other tasteful mods include Pedders fast rack, f&r zero drop springs, comfort gas struts & shocks, SLP rear sway bar, SAP mufflers with single tips, dual bezel pod with AI gauges, IAT relocate, Chris White TCM, genuine SAP grilles, painted IBM rear valance, blacked out arrowheads, Holden HSV/LS2 trunk badge and Liquidome HSV steering wheel badge.

It’s been a while since I lost my original GTOZZ user account due to inactivity after the site was hacked. Good to see a few OG’s are still around.

73blazer Ordered Jan '04 (mouse over my Founding Member banner under my name for my order number, we were all waitin' then!).... Picked up May '04. Never looked backed! Currently 172kmi on it. My Daughter was 4 when we bought it. Now she's a sophomore in college
Replaced trans with a TR6060 modified because the T56 blew up at 110kmi on it. Everything else has just been standard stuff really.

At first I thought it had been in the train wreck? It was built in June of 05 & I have learned that the train wreck was prior to that date? Anyway it's got 41,000 on it now. And I plan to attend the "Slay the Dragon" this coming October. And hope to attend the Goat Run 2020 if the event is held again. I have a Holden nose arriving soon for a new look. A dream I've had ever since I purchased it. With a name like mine, it just seems right? Ole' Bob.

Yep, same here. Bought my 2006 BOM with 4016 miles in May 2007 from a guy who had just gotten a divorce. It's been garage kept ever since. It's currently sitting at 27,777 miles on the odometer today.

06GTO427 Inherited mine from my father who purchased it new in May of 06. He passed away in 2012 and I have spent the last 7 years doing some very extensive modifications. Car still has only 640 original miles on it. I just posted a few pics in the photo gallery (new album).
Cheers.

The original owner bought it in California drove it 2 months then passed away at the age of 52.
It sat in a garage for 6 years until I bought it in 2012.
The son said his dad LOVED this car, which is why he didn't sell it right away.
Don't ask me why but I think of that a lot sentimental I guess. I am 61

I actually have a clause in my will that prohibits the sale of mine. It goes to one of my sons and he wouldn't want to sell it anyway. I'm 72.

TexasAggie Picked mine up new in June 2006. PBM , 6 speed, 18 inch wheel option and the red leather. 36,033 miles and staying there for awhile since my dumb ass can't drive it anymore until my broken tibia heals.

Mine is no longer 4 sale. Decided to keep it and do some work to her. The family and I decided this is our legacy and we just can't get rid of it. We got her 3 months after my first son was born so She's family too.

Not an original owner, but same boat as you in this regard. The wife and I recently decided the same. We planned to sell it and knock out some of her loans from her doctorate. I was looking at an SN95 project (the only Mustang body style I like, grandpa had a 95 Cobra that I loved). I figured they're cheap to buy and cheap to mod, so it could give me that project/muscle car fix I need.

The wife vetoed this saying "no you hate Mustangs. You love cars that are harder to come by." She knows me well.

So we looked at C5's, G8's, and then realized... we would spend more on one of those than we would sell the GTO for. We decided the GTO will get some much needed love for far less than the cost of a newer toy, and it has sentimental value.
