158 & it was still pulling strong, although I wasn't. This was of course done under strictly controlled conditions.

100 daily-Up through the gears off 2 enterance ramps going to work.
If traffics really light I'll shift to 5th at 120-

My usual MO is to shut her down at 120 shifting into 5th-But one night coming home late from work-about midnight-I came apon one of those late 90's Big Black Impalas. I could tell quickly it was modded-wide tires and low. It;s plate said 4DR RKT.(4 door rocket).
I was feeling cocky so I pulled up beside and goosed it. And we were off-from 60mph-I quickly saw his back bumper-WWHHAAATTTT?
It was short because my exit was near-but it was his exit also-M59 to I-75-
So then we go from 50-I new it would be a longer run-again he's GONE!! This is when I run it out for a few seconds in 5th and I glance down doing 135-my seat is feeling light_ That Impala is about 1/4 mile ahead of me!! Must be doing well over 150-160--Going by Diamler Chrysler World Headquarters.
He got off at my exit and we stopped at a red-I yelled out, "Nice job on your car"-It was modded inside-out, but the body was still intact. Nice lookin boat and loud.
All I could hear him say was supercharged and that he had it over 200 on the race track!!
You have to respect that, it was a ROCKET
So I just made my way home-Thinking to myself,"Finally beaten by somebody"
But my Goat and I were still smilin'-that was fun!

I'm lucky to have enough room to run the goat to 120 on the Los Angeles freeways. Too much traffic and the fools LIKE pulling in front of speeding cars!

As a side note... I always look at what's down the road as far as I can see just for that reason BEFORE taking her over 100.

Don't you just hate it when you need to slow down at the end of the ramp because of traffic!

I came up the ramp at ~90 one day. slowed down and nestled between a couple cars in the middle lane. I look over my left shoulder and there's a state cop looking at me with a grin on his face. He was hiding behind the car I pulled in front of. Thought that was cool.

My sentiments exactly. From now on, I'm going to race people from an 80 MPH kick.

Not during that jaunt, but other times in the weekend I found myself on 55 mph 2 lane roads. It's amazing how easy it is to push 90 just dropping into 4th to pass somebody. The acceleration at 60+ in this car still just amazes me.
Dan

120 is childs play. I used to hit 163 (fuel cut off in LS1 F-Body) quite often. There is a huge difference between 120 and 160. Like the difference between 45 and 85!

About twice a week going 120+ depending on traffic and weather conditions.

In a police free area (6am sun. cop shift change on a six lane hi-way).

No place for police to hide. (Speed trap)

No on or off ramps/ 2 miles straightway.

Still breaking mine in. Only 300 miles so far. Don't plan to take it over 100 mph until after 1000 miles on the odo.

123 here and it handled well even though the road is off canter and has many short dips. Thats about as high as i can go and still slow down. I don't have any good straight roads where I live. Looking for a track oppertunity; in due time.

with the goat, ive actually put the cruise on at 130, and over 120, too many times to count, but not like beating on the car just cruising on the expressway. now when i had my 87 firebird, i was clocked once at 126 and when i got pulled over, the state trooper asked me how fast i was going, and i told him the Gods honest truth, "honestly officer, i dont know... the speedo ends at 85mph" but also by the grace of God it was a cousin of one of my buddies, he remembered me but i didnt remember him, so he scared the hell out of me and then told me to tell jer he said hi, and walked away....

125 on a wide open stretch of freeway and 140 at the track. The instructor wouldn't let me go higher. Maybe next time......

Total idiots in Los Angeles.

I actually had a good ride into work this morning. Hardly any traffic on the north bound 405 just south of the 118. I had a shot to see just how fast the goat would go from 80 to 120. Took less than 6 seconds and I wasn't really pushing her! I had no room left for higher speeds due to traffic.

I own a GEN 4 Z28 as well as a 04 GTO, big improvement in the ride at 120 ~ 140 in the GTO, over the older technology f-body.

OK, let's see, if I look up your profiles and where you live and what color your cars are, etc. etc. maybe I could provide a list of GTO's that are henceforth VOID OF WARRANTY and sell it to GM. They have a big push on right now to lower warranty cost. Might just work.

OK, I'm just kidding, but confession (and/or bragging) isn't always good for the soul.

I have had this thing over 140 twice during the first week. The amazing thing is that it was still pulling hard when I chickened out!!! It is truly amazing. I bought this car for my daughter's 16th birthday, but might have to rethink that decision.

I'm pretty sure that circumstancial evidence is not admissable in court for either speeding tickets or civil cases. I certainly don't trust my bragging posts, because I'd never do anything that silly
