PS, we are looking for a title sponsor for this event as well, let me know!

Lance is this a GTO only or G8's and Solstices too. Is this connected to the GTO Association of Central Ohio? Thanks.

Humbler, I could only go to either this event or the NHRA Nationals at Norwalk the following week. I gave the choice to my son and he wanted to the the dragsters. I won't be at this, but will see if I can make it next year.

Cool, I'm taking my boys to Norwalk for the first time this year!

PS, there probably won't be a "next year" at least with the GTO Club, GTO.R's final year this year!! I suspect the Camaro club will invite us along though next year.

Just wanted to comment that if you have half as much fun as our group had at VIR
(757Goat) you will have a ball. This sort of racing format can't be beat, especially because of how friendly and inviting the racing teams are. Getting out onto the track for a parade lap is pretty awesome as well. If there were any way I could pull it off, I'd come up there and join you. And if any of you are sitting on the fence trying to decide it to go, you won't regret it if you go! Have a great time.

I watched the race and I noticed that in the program intro they listed the GTO in the makes of cars running the GT class. I assumed that was based off the Daytona entry info since I never saw a 21 listed on the ticker. I thought the MCM GTO.R was running more than just the Daytona 24?

For reasons unknown, the #21 MCM GTO.R withdrew from teh Mid-Ohio race weekend.

The GTO.R(s) is / are for sale, at hefty prices, they no longer campaign them. I guess they have 2 for sale that are what's left after they've been stuffed into tire walls on nearly every occasion. They had a host of drivers in and out of them, and always seemed to either crash or break due to mechanical failure.

While the cars were certainly capable or had the potential to be, the team and the pit stops were never really up to snuff to run the car competitively. It was a pay and arrive and drive experience type program.

The MCM2 team runs a similar liveried white with orange and blue stripe Mazda MX-5 in the Koni series and a Corvette in the Grand-Am GT series.

The GTO.R will never be on track in competition again.

For Mid Ohio Matt Connolly said they had a driver (w/ $$$) back out last minute. He would have raced but didn't have the cash. Not surprised they are for sale, end of an era! Sad really.

We went out with a bang though!
