Power mirrors stopped working

I found out my mirrors stopped working, both sides.
I checked the fuse, its ok.
What are the chances both motors in the mirrors are broken, I'm guessing its the switch thats broken, is there a way to test this ?
Maybe remove the switch and put a battery on a couple of wires, or crossing the correct wires ?
Can the switch be removed without removing the doorpanel ?
I would like to be sure before I start replacing stuff

Of course it could also be faulty wiring I guess, but wouldn't that trip the fuse ?

The switch pops out of the door panel, but the wire is short so be careful not to damage the plug/wiring. (I would take the dor panel off so you can probe the switch.) Here is the wiring diagram for testing and the switch part number: Standard Motor Products MRS78

I would use a test light to check power.

I had the same issue and just replaced the switch with one from Rock Auto and all is back to normal now. The switch is super easy to replace.

If they both went out at the same time, very likely to be the switch. Haven't really heard or seen any other issues to cause the mirrors to go out. There's a few issues with wires rubbing thru on the dash frame but I believe that's mostly related to the BCM.

Yes, BCM it is- best to wrap the wires that rest on the frame at the rear of the glove compartment.

Luckely for me it was the switch
Took a few weeks to get here, but its fixed now, thanx for the help.

Now onto my next problem, whiney pulleys, I think its the AC ones, which already I replaced last year, but that's not what this topic was about.

not sure if there is another thread detailing a solution to this, but i had two bad mirror switches i took apart, cleaned up with acetone and a q-tip, and they work as good as new again.

they are not complex. if anyone's taken apart a cheap PC keyboard, the way the buttons work is a pretty similar setup.

If that's the case, I may have a perfectly good mirror switch in a drawer in the garage. Mine started acting funny so I replaced it with a used one only to have the same intermittent problems. It hadn't occurred to me to actually check the contact points.
