Flex fuel - 348/80e - S488 - Tube Front - Rear mount radiator

Hey guys, long time no talk. It finally happened. I bought back my old gto about a year ago. Trashed, guy parted it out and let the bank repo it. Motor, trans front clip gone. For those of you that donít know me, I was one of the first, if not the first to do a solid axle swap into gto with 4 link.

Anyways, I bought my Og car back and it still had the 9Ē under it.

After a year of searching I finally found a donor car for a reasonable price for the parts I needed. Bought this car for $1700. Tons of aftermarket suspension parts, 06 back bumper and tails, etc. plus the holy grail sap front bumper. Iíve been mulling over what to do with this car for a year, as I have a twin turbo ws6, supercharged 6 speed ss nova, heads cam converter ly5 73 camaro, and tons of other shit.

So I decided why not take this car and do some more off the wall shit with it.

So here is the plans.
Iím going to tube front it, like I did my trans am but go farther with it. Front he firewall forward everything will be gone, sams the 2 frame rails that come up. Iím going to run a couple chromoly bars from the firewall forward on each side of where the strut rides to catch the strut mount.

Iím going to use the whole tubular k member, coil overs and tubular control arms I have from an f body and graft them onto the gto. If you canít tell from the SRA swap, Iím not about that super expensive crappy gto suspension life.

Radiator will be minntes under the rear of the car like my nova is.

Dual fuel system, pump 91 and M1. Non intercooled twin s366 or so.

Iíll probably stick my forged 348 and trans braked 4l80e into the car for now.

Iím going to build a chromoly mini structure Inside the front fenders and bumper to tie them all together so that the front can be removed in one piece.

Up in the air on engine management currently, still lots of research to do and it will be a slow process for the next few months while I gather parts and get things ready.

Thanks man! Feels really good to be back in the gto game, and even better to put the things I’ve learned, and the tools I’ve acquired since owning this car the first time to good use on one. I’m super excited to get this party started

I have to retract that. I found a few singles I’m highly interested in and may actually go single now. My buddy has my old big single custom grind he never used and he wants to buy my old twin turbo cam, I may swap him my twin cam for his single.

Looking at these. Any input?

Looking at the Garrett GT88 and the s400 82Ett.

Heyyyy! Seems like I just talked to you 🤣🤣.

Vsr88 is ordered, along with my Pro-Flo, tubular upper controll arms, mwc upper shock/control arm mount all on the way. Going to hold off on ordering anything else till the cage is paid for.

Same man, after I sold it and then built a couple n/a cars and then 3 turbo cars, I always thought back and said man, I wish I had that car back to do over again. I could have went so much faster for so much cheaper. Well here we are lol. I’m just ecstatic. The cage is reasonable. $2300 for the 8.50 chromoly cage and mini tub install. I’ve got the rest of the parts mostly besides the ecu system, I’ve got plenty hear to keep me busy the way it is lol.

Well pro flow came in today! Looks killer, little taller than expected lol. I’m going to do the intake, tb, valve covers, valley cover and front timing cover in QSM, along with the compressor cover and discharge. Do the fins on top the intake and edelbrock logo in black, and run black couplers. Should look sexy

Also ordered a front motor plate and mid plate from motion raceworks. Still waiting on my mini tubs to get the car to the shop for the cage.

More parts showing up all the time. Decided to have the chassis shop do a dash bar and front bars through the firewall also, so I can tie my suspension into it. Much like the photo

Thanks guys! Really, really pumped about doing this. Even more so now that I found out there’s a few companies selling code correct paint for these cars in quarts and aerosol cans. Wasn’t looking forward to the paint bill for the cage and front end parts. Building a new powdercoating oven while I’m waiting for the car to get back

Small update. Still waiting on the car from the chassis shop. After many hours of reading on about M1 and EFI, I have decided to go back to e85. The levels of maintenance with m1 are insane, and I just don’t have the time or patience for it. So I will be going back to e85 but it will be flex fuel at least. Really excited to get the car back, wanna get this started.
