Clutch hard at times

So if I take off hard from a line when I go into 3rd the pedal is super stiff and as I slow down returns to normal. Any ideas on what to look for. It only does it if I run it hard

Pressure plate could also be bad from overheating.

Sounds like OEM LSx clutch syndrome. Mine was like that until about 150k miles when I finally replaced everything. Now I can drive it however I want and can shift into any gear, something that shouldn't be a new functionality...

Upgrade your clutch and hydraulics.
