SAP Grilles

So what are unpainted, but used SAP grilles going for in mint condition these days? I tried looking at some past for sale threads but they all just say sold. I saw one side went for 300 on ebay. Are these things really going for $6-700?

For OEM yes. I've seen multiple sets on eBay sell for that.

There's an aftermarket company making them for just under $200. I know nothing about the quality, but surely I can make a guess... http://community.giffgaff.com/t5/ima...37E2C?v=mpbl-1

Also, (I'm sure you probably already know this) be careful on what you're bidding-on or purchasing on ebay. Some jerks will buy multiple sets of those repro's, then sell them for a higher price saying that they're original.

You can say the name of the company but don't give the address.

I have a set on the car that are mint that I'm debating selling. All the repro ones don't seem to fit that great (I had a set for my last car). The stock grilles don't bother me when they're painted gloss black so I'm debating selling the sap.

Its gtoG8TA that is selling them for less than $200. However, they were selling them for right at $200 but lowered there price down to $150 when this batch came out not fitting as good as they wanted. They are however redesigning them and the "new" batch will be out around December of this year according to their website.

I didn't know it was a member here. I thought it was one of those fly-by-night company's. You know, like Eugene's Fish 'n Chips, Family Counseling AND Car Insurance Depot. "Better Call Saul!"

No disrespect to the member here, as long as quality is at least attempted.

Indeed. I know that WCS and MavMan sap grills don't fit that great either.

I have MavMan grilles and they fit perfectly.
My only complaint with them is they don't come with the honeycomb insert, so its just empty and I cant find the insert.

I have debated selling them to just go with some regular SAP's with the honeycomb back.

My WCS SAP grilles were perfect, you can't tell they're not factory. Maybe mine where made instead of answering the phone?

When I installed my Mavmans, I recall having to trim the tabs to get them to fit through the slots. Even so, they'd pop out if something wasn't holding them from the back because of the tension. I've seen the gaps on the WCS SAPs as well. Maybe they just needed more prep work done to them.

Wish you could've took close ups. Looks good in the pics. Wish they would've done better with the grills but at least it comes with inserts. Are the inserts removable? Is the design same as stock as far as the way the inserts are secured?

The fitment doesn't look TOO bad. Not quite the same as seeing them in person, but at least someone put some pics of these up finally!! I would've left your hood scoops black though.

I was expecting to see bigger gaps and worst imperfections from the new gtog8ta.com grills but they definitely look good in those pictures IMO.

All that blood, sweat, and tears to make the GTO look like a Grand Am.

On there website they added this bit to the description

*These may have some minor gaps in the grille. Fitment is FAIR. May require blocking/sanding and filling. If you are handy with fiberglass, you can work these out to make them fit pretty good.

Improved 2nd Design coming Winter 2014!*

Soooo at least they acknowledge its not the best and are hoping to improve it

The stock kidney grill look silly. Granted, it does look like a GrandAm on roads but those grills had to go.

Jr., I believe that if you sell off all the goodies on that car you just bought, you may be able to pay for the entire car.

What happened to them? I've never seen any come up for sale used.

I ordered the grilles from gtog8ta, and the gaps were BIBLICAL. I should have taken pictures. They weren't even close to being acceptable, but they alerted me of a potential issue before I received them, and refunded all of my money as soon as they received them. They also promised me the next batch would be substantially better.

Imho, just painting the stock grilles black improves their look 100% over the stock grey color they came in.
I have SAP's on my PBM and painted the hood scoop honeycombs and rear insert satin black.
I had to get rid of it.
