For any folks out there using the 3D printed 8" subwoofer brackets, have you had trouble getting the rear desk panel back in place?
I picked up the Cerwin Vega subs folks have mentioned here and my rear deck panel sits up too high for the fasteners to go back in.

Any tips? I still have the rubber rings around the circumference on the subs...ditch the removable piece or the whole ring?
@Kfxguy @Stoopalini ?

Dont see why not run kicker 6.5s and get a real sub if you want actual bass... 8" arent going to do much and CV subs are a joke
Too late for that at this point.

Headroom. I had a single aftermarket 8" in the Runner and most times it was ok but certain songs like "Head Like a Hole" by NIN, it would distort on the sustained bass notes. Now I have dual 8s but still 10s would be better.

Had to pull the beauty rings.

Still tight, but close enough to persuade things.

headroom?

my Kickers have never distorted. They rattled the rear shelf until I boom matted it but it never had an issue with any note. I also didn’t over drive them and didn’t expect a small mini sub to be a full blown bass driver.

what trunk. The gas tank takes it up anyways. And people have mounted 10/12 in subs behind the 1/4 panels if keeping the pathetic trunk space viable does it for you.
I daily drove my car so yes keeping it was nice and i didnt have time to make 1/4 panel boxes. But get your jollies off by making sure we all know how stupid putting 8s in were :rolleyes:

When Barbie Girl comes on and I want fo crank it to 11, I want the headroom so the subs handle 11.

I’m doing a pair of 8s in the side panels and I am going to like it. The Kickers I got should produce enough meaningful bump to keep the idea of a trunk sub at bay. If I want more bump, a fiberglass corner trunk sub could be in the future, but I doubt it. I wish there was enough room between the gas tank and the seat wall for a shallow style truck box. A single 10” or 12” would do well there with a hole cut in the wall for the sub.
