As has been often established, the GTO LS2 was the last of the 24, after which the 58. So, when reading about people who have done an engine swap to LS3 or LS7, they speak of using the Lingenfelter adaptor. But is it possible to simply change out the reluctor wheel instead? To the unfamiliar (me), it seems like a cleaner solution than the adaptor since the adaptor will forever cause a delay in starting the engine while the computer reads it.

Yes.

That said, I don’t believe the word “simply” can be used. The reluctor on the crank needs to be replaced and don’t know how involved that is on an already assembled motor. Hence why the converter box is the “simpler” option.
