Having this weird issue where my ABS light comes on during a system check complete start up. ABS light comes on for a second and goes away. No ABS codes or any issues when driving. The light does not come on if I start it right away without waiting for the system check complete. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

VIdeo of Problem.

sung and very small amount of corrosion, battery is little over a year old. Have not got it tested yet.
i would do that.

you might want to go into the secret menu and display system volage while you crank, see how low the voltage dips.

Will definitely do, voltage dropped down to 9.2-10.4 during start up. 11-12 with key in and 14 while running

9.2 volts is pretty low during cranking. it's possible that's your issue.

if it was fully charged on key-on it should be in the mid 12's.

I remember having that issue long ago while the car was still under warranty and had even taken it in for that. They didn't find anything and I have not had that issue for a long time 🤞.. no idea what it was or why/how it went away. I'll probably eat my words and it comes back now. Battery going bad sounds like a possible cause.

Don't want to start throwing parts at it, are any other test or things to check you think I should do?

is it still doing it now with a fully charged battery?

is the voltage still dipping into the 9's?
Yes still dipped down into the 9s on a cold start will have to drive to more to get the battery fully charged.

might want to invest in a battery tender.

if your connections on the battery/starter harness are all good, maybe have the starter tested, and clean the mating surface between the starter and the block.

Drove it so the battery can charge and the ABS fault did not come on with a full start. Will definitely clean up the leads on the battery and starter.
I would like to use a tender but I park it on the street.

I had an ABS light come on steady on my 04. My Shop guy that cleared it said it was cause by the seatbelt tensioner rheostat . Who knew our cars even had one?? It hasn't reoccurred.

i think he might have meant the pretensioner.

that does bring up a good point, though... should check the abs codes.
