I talked to a girl from Pontiac today. It wasnt good news if what she was sayin is correct. She said that our cars cannot be tracked until they hit the shores. Mainly, she said that the first boat is to arrive in the US on Dec 10 or around there. I told her that there was a boat that was supposed to be here at the end of last week, but she insisted that there was no boat intended for arrival until December. After arguing with her I just hung up. I, myself, think that there is some games being played with us. I don't even know what to think anymore. I come here for GOOD news, and everytime i call pontiac I get bad news. The last time i called my dealer he said my TPW was pushed back til 10/29, but on this site it is 10/13. Something smells fishy.

I WOULD SAY SHE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT SHE IS TALKING ABOUT. WE HAVE PICTURES OF CARS BEING LOADED ON CHIJIN. CHIJIN IS/WAS IN TACOMA YESTERDAY OR TODAY. WHO KNOWS ABOUT BENICIA WHICH HOLDEN SAYS IS WHERE THEY ARE GOING. THIS SHIP IS DUE BACK IN JAPAN DECEMBER 12 OR SOMETHING SO THINK WE CAN PRETTY MUCH BE SURE IS UNLOADING OUR CARS SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN, MAYBE ALREADY. THE DEALER AND PROBABLY PONTIAC TOO WONT HAVE TRACKING DATA WE CAN ACCESS UNTIL THEY GET LOGGED IN, WINDOW STICKERS APPLIED (THEY WERN'T ON THE CARS WHEN LOADED AND THE MSRP AND MILEAGE NOT ANNOUNCED TIL AFTER BOTH SHIPS LEFT.) THEN WHEN SHIPPED TRUCK/RAIL WE WILL BE ABLE TO GET SOME MORE INFO. TAILS, YOU WANT CHIME IN HERE TOO?

Sorry about the caps, not trying to shout. I think many of us have had some TPW shifting issues. That does seem to happen and there is a delay of transmission of info. Mine was 10/20 here for about a month, then 10/30 then dealer told me 10/02. Today called and said was 10/30 ( ie jason was right)

Anyway, DY and Jason, you want to address this too?

I've been criticized that this tracking info is all "hype". I work hard to get the facts to the people who ordered the cars. I try to stay away from daily BS updates but each week I think its reasonable to get a status update of all the orders. As far as delivery we are all in the dark, we do know the cars were loaded on that ship and where that ship is. There is alot of mis-information out there.

I totally agree with you on that. It just makes me mad that the people who are supposed to know the MOST(dealer and PONTIAC!) know nothin. All i have to say is I'm glad DY can give us the opportunity to use this site for THE best info. Thanks a lot DY.

weird you called pontiac and talked to a woman a friend of someone i talked to about the gto called pontiac and talked to a woman( no offense ladies) i guess he was trying to check on what i told him/? anyways she said there was no official msrp or date they would be available for buyers and she even put him on hold to ask someone elese?? yes this means nothing but if you call the marketing folks you would think they have been updated to atleast whats on there web site? ps once again great work and site D/J we know its not hype/ plus if GM wants to hide info they will. they probably pay people big money to do that its part of there game??

I spoke with my dealer and he (as expected) did not know anything about the status. He also said that he won't know anything until the GTO reaches "built" status. Once he is notify of that status, he said he can track the shipment to the dealer. I think we all need to be (gulp) patient until then.

It looks like someone else is excited as moi. You are correct. The Chijin is scheduled to leave Tacoma tomorrow. It has to be going down to Benicia. We need Bay area contacts!!!

I was told by my dealership my car was built already. Done. Complete. Finished. .................. well where is it? I'm on the east coast of NC so we'll probably be the last to receive.

The people answering the phone have no clue what's going on. They're just first tier customer service.

I wouldn't take much of what they say to heart.

Hey guys and gals I got my info straight off the GM site where you check order # status. It is no big secret, if one of the other dealers took the time to look the your order number up they would find out the same info I do. My info is as correct as I can make it. The reason why no one has received a VIN # is because I think that GM won't release them until the cars actually hit US soil and are ready to deliver to the dealers. Just remember that DY and myself would not put this info up on the site unless we thought it was correct.

The Chijin is leaving Tacoma today. It should arrive at Benicia Saturday or Sunday. (Unless it went there before Tacoma) The VIN's should be showing up early next week!!! People should be able to start tracing their vehicles using the stealth railcar tracking system outlined elsewhere.

I just talked to my buddy that owns the dealer that I ordered my car from. He pulled my order up on VOMIT oops I mean VOMS and gave all the same information that you and DY have been posting all along. There is a specific reason why VINs haven't been released into the system. It may have to deal with the certificates of origin. If the certificates are being generated here then the cars technicaly dont exist yet on paper. It's all going to come out in the wash in the very near future. Keep up the good work.
