ChevyHiPerformance and Hotrod,

Did an article on a 452cu. inch C5R entitled "King Kong C-5R" if you want to go look for it.
Once on the dyno it was run with a stock ZO6 type t/b and an 81mm BBK type back-to-back.
It lost power all the way through the rpm range.
Bigger maf-meters and T/B's don't show the results that many claim on these engines.

Any buy a BBK 1709 and install it? Is it worth the money?

If not what's a good throttle body?
I started from the stock 48mm TB with a 52mm BBK on my 96 Impala SS; LT1. I was turning 13.8, 13.9. I then went to an Arizona Speed & Marine 54mm with an F Body MAF and did constant 13.2s. Remember you have to re-program the PCM for the changes, especialy for the MAF; or the PCM will compensate and adjust the MAF to perform as stock.

Generally, The entire induction system is a matched set. You have to modify all the components to really get what each part claims. That is, Mass-Air, T-Body and intake and/or head porting/honing would probably be required to make the effort worth it. That can be expensive for 20 hp. It is also possible to have too-big of an induction system-- then you are just wasting money and losing power.

Why not just wait for a NOS or blower kit to come out?
