So in the past couple weeks my car has ben rendered nearly undrivable. I had one of these before (turn key and nothing) and replacing the alternator and battery had my car starting perfectly for months until now.
Here are all the different issues I have had
1. Starts up immediately, dies after less than a second
2. Starts up half the cylinders, flashes safety mode on the dash, dies
3. All lights come on dash, turn the key, absolutely nothing
4. Starts up running good, stays in safety/limp mode
unrelated, but for the life of this car I've had a misfire code on (after replacing coils, wires, and plugs)
But every other time going to start it, it'll start perfectly and drive with no issues. I'm lost as to what is going on but I suspect a bad ECU

If you have access to a scan tool or DTC reader a checksum error would confirm a bad ECU.

Check the harness behind the glove box that goes to the BCM to make sure it didn’t rub thru the harness. It’s common most people put a piece of rubber hose around it to keep it from rubbing on a sharp edge. You can search there are a few write ups on it

Alright so update on the situation so i checkec that part of the harness and quite shockingly its all good. Same issues but this time i read the codes. There's a bunch of codes related to throttle position, gas pedal sensor, and idle position not learned.. Same starting issues as before they had just gone away for a month or two

looks like you have a list of parts to throw at it now.

have you ever cleaned your throttle body and had the idle learn reset ("cleaned throttle reset" special functio in hptuners vcmscanner)?

So did you do anything about the misfire code that you said came up after changing coils, plugs, and wires? You say its unrelated but should also get resolved, maybe by going back to the previous coils at least to see if it goes away and it might be bad new coils or wires? And if not, maybe something with the new plugs.. that's not something that should be ignored either.
