Guy deserves credit for making an online write-up, but his method is nothing new. That is how I was taught to break in a motor and all the old-timers I have worked with have done it like that for decades...

The most important thing to remember about his advice is this:

It's about MOTORCYCLES.

Err on the side of caution and follow OEM recommendations as given in your owner's manual. Those are the specs given by the engineers who designed the engine.

Maybe there are "better" opinions, experts, and advice.

But they aren't the ones who will cover your warranty, are they?

Theory and application of is valid for all modern internal combustion motors. You baby your car and the chances of having sealing issues and oil comsumption will increase.
