I just talked to them. Very nice people. Found out my GTO was loaded on a train today and is leaving this evening for Janesville and will arrive there on Monday. I will have my GTO some time next week!!
My car is still in CA and has not been shipped they guys at the railyard were nice enough to help me. They said it will take 8 days from CA to KC (look out HD my car is on the way) then it should only take a few days to get it to Petersburg VA. They said my car should be sent out possibly tomorrow and that it did not even arrive to the port in CA till 12-30. It has a TPW of 9-26
Thanks Ed! This is big. My car will be in KS on 1/11 & unloaded on 1/13 :D
Mine is still in fairfax. Hasn't got the outbound rail car #.
edsmaroonz - nice work!! That was too easy, mine is in Ogden, Utah moving towards Fairfax, Kansas. Not due here for ten days or so, I'll try to relax......
:D :D This is GREAT! I just called and gave them my VIN. They said my car is on the train and due into Fairfax 1/11/04 and will be unloaded on 1/13. Then loaded on another rail to go northeast. This was much to easy. THANKS EDSMAROONZ! GM should take some lessons here. :slap:
EDSMAROONZ,
Thank you for the information about tracking the GTO via UP. This is such a great tool in locating the vehicles. It is a shame that it takes people on this forum to do a better job of providing useful information regarding the GTO than GM :slap: has not been doing all along.

My Goat left Fairfax and is currently in Illinois rail car # ETTX803541
Is due In Janesville Wi on the 8th @ 17:56 pm to be unloaded

Car should be shipped to Dealer this weekend . :D :D :D
The guy at Union Pacific was great. He told me that my car was unloaded at Fairfax KS and is waiting for more cars. It will then be loaded for Annapolis Junction, Md. Once loaded, it should be about 7 to 8 days to Md.

I wished I would have known about this site 2 weeks ago I could of saved about 20 trips to the Cooper Lot and miles and miles of walking and sneaking around. Don't take this wrong I really had fun finding what I did and seeing these things come in it's just this UP # is far better than what I was doing. I only knew something if the car hit the ground in Kansas this thing tells you everything. What a good thing and to think this was there all the time.

HD I will never forget what you have done for all of us on this Site.

I salute you :drink: :drink:
You set my mind at ease during trying times and you helped me keep my sainity :p
Thank You Holeshot. I like your style my GTO is Red / Auto / Blk
I can't believe it......someone other than LS1GTO knows something about where our cars are.

The guy at UP was terrific. He told me my car was unloaded on 1/3/04 (just like HD926 told me) and that it hasn't been loaded on an outbound train yet. Should happen sometime in the next couple of days.

The guy that took my call asked if I was calling about one of the GTO's. I imagine most, if not all, of the calls he is getting are for GTO's.

Thanks edsmaroonz for the tip about calling Union Pacific.

bobp16 They just started reloading the GTO's again in K.C.KS today. The hold up was the ice storm we had Saturday night and Sunday morning. About 1 1/2 inches and it took till today for the ice to clear on the windows. I went outside after work next door to Cooper's and they were loading. What is a couple more days after all of this. HD926,

Thanks for the update buddy!

The guy from Union Pacific said it should only take a couple of days to get enough cars heading to the Northeast......so based on what you said my car may be loaded and shipped today or tomorrow.

I'll be calling UP late tomorrow!

Try to stay warm.....

you suppose both our cars are on the same train or would they be sending two trains to Janesville? I was really hoping to have my car before this weekend but I guess next week would be ok (like I have any choice).
I would say it's either with my car or hole shots. His left a few days ago. Get your VIN and call Union Pacific to find out for sure. The people on their customer service are really nice and easy to talk to.
