The dealer just called my wife - get this - my GTO is sitting in a yard in NJ waiting to be delivered. The car carrier tried to start it up on Saturday so he could load it and the battery was dead. he carrier could not jump start it - no cables. So now I have to wait until the next delivery of cars to my dealer (assuming the carrier can find cables).

Hopefully it will be here in a few days - who knows - I feel like I am dealing with the children of the corn!

Pontiac - are you listening out there????

Your dealer can go to the yard and pick it up them selfs. It's a just a matter of you talking them into it.

They are just turning off the car and not taking the key out. This leaves the accessories on and runs battery dead. :slap:

You gotta wonder why Pontiac hasn't told the carriers this. I guess I shouldnm't bitch - at least mine is in state - just pissed at the ignorance of ole supply/communciation chain.

If GM had to communicate with every trucking, shipping or rail firm to explain to them the nuances of every vehicle they create, they'd never get them produced and sold.

Maybe instead of complaining about GM's lack of communication to these firms, blame GM for such an assinine retained power feature! The retained power in my truck, Camaro, and Monte shuts off even if the key is left in the ignition once the door is opened.

My only complaint with GM right now is all this [email protected]#$%@#$^%@#%$ waiting. Order a @#%[email protected]#$% car in July and I call Pontiac this morning and they cant tell me anymore about my car than my 9 year old!! I tell ya, I'm about at wits end with this whole @#%^@$%^@$%^ thing!!!

Your car is built and probaly on a boat on it's way to California. You have another 2 months before you can be pissed off at Pontiac. Remember they said you will get your car 60-90 days after TPW whichs puts you at the begining of March. I hopr you get it sooner than that though. These cars are being shipped nearly 10,000 miles before we even get them.

I hear what you're saying. But when I put $1,000 down for this so called advance order program, I had no idea that dealers would be getting cars just to sit on the showroom floor before I got mine that I ordered 6 freakin months ago. I know it sounds petty and I know there are people here that should be alot more upset than I, but my patience is starting to wear a little thin. Rant over. I feel better now. NOT.

A dealer can order a car for stock and mark it a sold order when they enter the order into the computer. Then they could give Pontiac names of their friends / family so the car is legit as a preorder. So what I'm getting at all these cars could have been a part of the preorder program but it was the dealer taking advantage of it.

Dealers and their shit.... :slap:

Wouldn't you have to be inside the trunk to verify that?

You're probably correct to imply that some dealers would order a car for stock as sold .They are morons and are only hurting themselves.A dealer can order as many sold cars as they want but they won't get pulled for production until the dealer has an allocation.Initial allocation was based on 1 guaranteed and additional allocations based on 2002 sales.Effective 1/1/04 a dealers allocation will be based not only on turn to earn but also on whether or not they are Mark of Excellence certified and meet zone average CSI.Also when a sold order comes in and is not delivered within 30 days the dealer loses 1 allocation. It pisses me off that other dealers play games but there's always one snake in the rockpile.

My car would barely start this morning. I didn't leave the key in, and I'm pretty sure the door was shut all the way. Hopefully I just didn't notice the door not being closed good, and it's not a more serious problem.

Simple solution. Swap out the stocker and get an Optima ASAP!

I wonder if the battery draining problems during transport were sufficient to damage the batteries? My dealer said my car barely turned over when they took it off the truck. When I went to see the car, it was on a charger. If people continue to have battery problems, GM is goint to be replacing a lot of batteries.

Well, mine might be the first. Car wouldn't start at lunch, had to be jumped. Took it to dealer, verdict bad cell in battery. Being replaced in morning.
