After destroying my guibos on the original driveshaft, I went old school with a Diff Tech one piece. I like the connection feel but I guess I'm a wussy in my old age. The NVH is a little much and I want the smooth/quiet/ easy feeling of the two piece. Does anybody even make a 2 piece anymore? Anybody use the RevShift guibos? Or is there somebody else that makes stronger donuts for the stock shaft?

Sorry for all the questions but I just want a stock feel, as much as I can get there at least. Thanks

Measure your driveline angles. You may be experiencing vibrations because the angles are off. I had to shim my trans down 3/8" to get a good angle.

I know Driveshaft Shop makes a 2-piece still, but I would reach out to Inland Empire or Denny's Driveshaft. They both have great customer service and reasonable turnaround times. Inland made a new one-piece for me with a two week turnaround after sending them my broken Driveshaft Shop shaft for measurements because Driveshaft Shop didn't even return my calls for two weeks and when they finally did, didn't even listen when I said I didn't have the factory yoke. I know Inland makes two-piece shafts for the 58-64 X-Frame folks, so it isn't anything new for them to do. You might even be able to just send them a stock driveshaft so they can make a new one.

As relatively cheap as the guibos are and easy enough to replace... I'd keep running them. I do.

So many vehicles use rubber driveshaft couplers I don't understand why the driveshaft on this particular car gets crucified the way it does.
I can't run the stock guibos as they tore apart with one good launch. That's why I went to the 1 piece DS. But if they make stronger guibos, then I might go back to the stock DS.

What is the correct angle? I'd like to check that. 3/8" is a big drop to get it lined up. Are the bolts that long or did you have to put new ones in?

I just use washers to space my trans cross member lower. Did it first when trying a 1pc for a bit. Then also needed more spacers to clear my shifter on the tunnel. The diff and trans are about 1.5 degrees within each other.
Would keep my dss pc if that was an option, solved all these issues and easier to rebuild compared to stock.

The bolts are long enough. I think for me, part of the issue is that I replaced the transmission mount and OEM is no longer an option, and I noticed that the aftermarket mount is taller than the one I replaced.

As for the angle, you want the transmission angle and the different angle to offset each other. If the differential pinion is pointing 3* up, then you want to get the transmission's output shaft pointing close to 3* downward. Tremec actually makes a driveline angle finder app that you can download on your phone to simplify things. You can just get an assortment of body shims from the parts store and shim the transmission crossmember down until you get an appropriate angle.

I've been running the DSS 2 piece for about 5-6 years now without issues. Car traps about 150 mph in the 1/4. I've never worked with DSS directly so I can't speak about their service. I've always gone through Kollar racing and gotten quick service.

Can you even get the two-piece shafts from DSS anymore? I can’t find them listed anywhere anymore.

And if so… can you get them with the direct-fit flange?

All aftermarket driveshafts tend to be direct fit. And like many products for something so old and outdated, production has to stop at some point.
Could always call them and see if they are interested in till making one.
