Any problems using half 5w30 and half 10w30? I have a few quarts of both left and wanted to be lazy instead of running out for more of one or the other.

Huh, it's funny you should mention that... I asked myself the same question just this past weekend. Last oil change I switched to 10W30, but I still have some 5W30 in the basement.

I'm no expert, but, if you're running a little low, I don't see where "topping off" with the 5W30 could do any harm. Better than using Crisco. :D

May I quote you on that?

No problem. It's called multigrade, multivis. Such blends were very popular several years back.

Their is no difference between 5w-30 and 10w-30 once the engine is at running temp. 10w-30 is going to be thicker when cold and not flow as well on a cold start.

I like mobil 1 0w-40 synthetic it gives faster starts, you get oil pressure faster, flows well when cold. Once its hot its thicker then 5w30.
