I have a hook-up to an awesome exhaust tech. What would be the benefits of adding a custom x-pipe or h-pipe to the stock system (basically replace the current ‘mock’ h-pipe with a functional one)?


For the short term I am looking to only do some minor mods – just wondering if this would be a worthy minor mod.

If I'm not mistaken, the H or X pipe makes more torque and calms the sound down somewhat. Where it is located seems to be important as well.

Torque. But as mentioned, it'll be a slight bit quieter due to the exhaust pulses mixing. You will not be a true dual anymore.

we already dont have a true dual. our exhaust exits on the left ;) :gr_jest:

i have already added an xpipe to the factory system it was done by kooks in ny i will be willing to sell it real cheap email me if you are interested.

Basically, I am look’n to add a little rumble to the stock system and if I can, add a little torque/hp, if practical. I am not ready yet to go with a full Cat-back system (or willing to spend $6-700 on one of the after-market systems).

It sounds like adding a x-pipe may add a small amount of torque and no increase in rumble.

So now I am back to square one – Has anybody replaced their stock mufflers with Magnaflows?
How does it sound?

You are correct. It'll give you a few extra pounds/ft of torque but will be quieter.

As to replacing with Magnaflow's, that's what I did. 2 x part#14362.

Slightly rumblier at idle, much more crisp and satisfying at WOT. :)

Thanks for your input - and the part #.
I'll be getting them installed next week. :cool:

Just wondering – did you replace the mufflers before or after you installed the Headers ?

I think we also looked at 11365 but I wanted stainless.
