04' GTO M6 <1000 miles

Fairly dissapointed with the numbers I ran tonight at Milan, MI dragway compared to what I was expecting from the car mags. Any GTO specific tips for shifts/launches? Need to get those 60' times down!! I wanted a 13 second pass pretty bad, still a ways off :( Was around 70 degrees tonight, track was also a tad bit slick-- spin on launch & wheel hop on 1-2 shifts.. no spin or hop on the street so far, just at the track.

Holy high 60 foot times. Get those 60's down and you should hit a 13 sec pass.

Yeah, that was the first thing I noticed... really slow 60' times. Get those down to 2.0 and you'll be hitting "magazine" numbers.

Was that you Thursday night in the Black M6?
I was in the other Black M6.

I'll be installing SLP sway bushings and a Harrop diff cover this weekend,
I'll let you know how they affect the wheel hop.

I was at Milan on Wednesday night for Test & Tune, but yes it is a black M6... could it have been Wednesday you were there? If so, it was nice to meet/race you :)

I definatley have to work on my launches, probably fool around on back roads and my Escort G-Timer (similar to G-Tech units, I think better). The car doesn't seem to mind power shifting, but it definatley likes you to use at least a little bit of clutch or else it really seems to bang the driveline up. Not sure whether to rip through the gears quickly or let it slip on the shifts yet....
