Well, this is a join the club deal, Red. Several of us ordered same time early June. TPW's way late- mine 10/30. Yours worse than that. We all expected that the Advance order program would get us some sort of priority. Clearly that is not the case leading to much frustration and anger, expecially since Pontiac has told us squat about anything. Not much we can do but at least the cars are in the pipeline now and deliveries are starting. Hope you get yours soon. We are all salivating for them and :drink: :drink: :drink: too much. If you go back over the old threads you will see what has happened over the past few months.
Thank's, just going insane waiting.
That has to do with dealer size and sales volume on Grand Prix's. Bigger dealers got more GTO's and higher Priorities. I also ordered mine in June.
The basic concept is that the advanced order program did nothing as far as prioritizing who got the cars first. You have a car allotted to you - but the timing is based on when the dealership you ordered from will have their car allotted. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense based on what we all read from the advanced order documentation - but it's how it panned out. The sub 20 degree weather and constant snow is making it much easier for me to wait for my car - since it would just be parked in the garage looking good anyway.
Hopefully if any good comes from this situation, it would be that Pontiac will either 1) learn how much information to communicate and prioritize future advanced orders based on actual personal orders and not dealer orders or 2) nix the whole preorder idea and let people fend for themselves in the future. I think option (1) wouldn't be too difficult these days - I just think they underestimated the amount of info it takes to keep us happy and overestimated how much information they would be able to keep straight back and forth with the Holden plant. Unfortunately they will probably lose some future sales because of this. Not the best thing to have happen with your supposed 'halo' car.

With out a dought !!!!
I know I'll never get quite so excited about a car coming to market again. I just want to know when it's coming so I can plan.
It is my understanding that a dealers allocation is determined by previous year sales of Trans Ams and WS6.

You better beleive it. I recently found out that the order # I received in the mail was WRONG. I'm back to the GMWHR9 order # with a TPW of 02/16/04, (or at least until DY updates my status on the tracker). I know a dealer who expects a car in within a week or two is asking for $5,000.00 OVER MSRP.

*Correction* My TPW is now 02/16/04. Last November is was 01/02/04, For every two months the calendar moves my TPW seems to advance 1 month.
Why are later TPW's being built BEFORE mine???
well whats turning out to be a thought might be true ??even if a car was on the first ship but was for the way east folks.. means it could sit and wait for others to join it at the first rail yard. even from other ships then when enough get there are they sent out to east regions .like my car if it was on the first ship where has it been since 11.15.03 till1.5.04 it just arrived at UP/s rail yard in california on 1.5.04 ??????????????
I ordered mine the first week of June and don't even have a TPW yet.

I put my deposit/order in on 06/28/03, got my TPW by November, (01/02/04), now discover TPW is 02/16/04. I must have REALLY missed dealers allocation, 'cause at another dealer where I put an order in they are getting the car ANY DAY NOW...Since I backed outta the first deal, (3K over msrp), dealer now wants 5K over msrp...
