Getting tired of the all black wheels on the 04

The weekend plans have been made.


And the victims are all lined up and ready.

Well, typical for me the project started out well but I got tired of the process and tried to hard to get product laid down later on and ended up with some runs. I was able to salvage one situation, the other is a mess. Wheels 1 and 2 turned out nice, salvaged number 3 and 4 will require some repair and refinishing. For now I'm going to let it all cure and get them on the car. I have a repair kit coming from Dipyourcar. I ordered it last week with the anticipation I would need it.... It really is a bit of a challenge to paint wheels with such thin spokes and with so many spokes. Hard to get even coverage and to avoid sags and runs. The kit has you put black dip down first, one whole can per wheel! It was kind of hard to tell what kind of coverage I was getting spraying black dip onto black wheels.

I used a respirator while painting, haven't had one for a while. Sure is nice to finish a project like this and not be blowing paint colored snot out of my nose and having who knows how much gunk in my lungs. I has asthma so you'd think I'd know better to mask up every single time.

Interestingly enough, this color is VERY close to Brazen Orange. I had the 06 here at the house while I was doing this project and put a finished one up beside the car and it was pretty close. A bit more prominent metallic but the color is pretty close. They should really look good on the red car, red car with copper or bronze wheels has always looked great. Ferrari does this combo a lot so it must be good, right?
