Went to get dounuts this morning (my wife is a prego) and on the way home, MMOB, came up on a Silver Lightning with graphics. The only thing I could see was a diff. cover. He started it by mashing the gas and I was right on it a second later. From fourth @80mph I slowly pulled on him and got about 1 car on him up at about 115mph. We had to slow due to traffic. Once the traffic cleared he gunned it again but I never pulled ahead of him. He got too much of a lead and had the inside lane of a minor curve in the freeway. Cool guy, exhanged thumbs up and I got off at my exit.

Think he was modded? I don't think he was but I have no experience against Lightnings. The diff. cover might hint twards a gear swap but other than that it wasn't very loud and I couldn't hear any whine at all.

Probably light mods. They are big and heavy but do pull nice till about 80 or so.

I noticed in your thread you said the blower was loud. I could not even hear his. That guy you raced must have had a pulley (like you said).

Yeah, if I had time I would have. I thought we were gonna do the three honk thing but he just gunned it enexpectedly. I still killed him from fourth though.

hard to say if he was modded. Gears get those trucks moving pretty quick. nice runs anyway.

HaHa, yes. Chocolate with sprinkles are great and that is what I had. Only one though, which was tough. I'm trying to loose some weight for my next PFA. Trying to get the highest score possible but its hard for me at this weight.

Yeah, I'm a second class. I don't think we have ever met. I work in the huge gray tower on the Ronald Reagan Blvd across from VR-55. You are a Chief? I work with PRC Sanders and used to work with PRC Sawyer if you know either of them. And no I don't live or park on Terrier St.

Agreed. MY 03 L ran a best of a 13.55 @ 101 bone stock. 11.83 @ 115 modded.

You're right, as an ex-lightning owner, they look deceptively slow, but a few mods and 450rwhp is easy, add that to the 500lbs of tq and I'm having flashbacks of the 911's carreras and their owners looking at me like WTF is that.

That being said a nicely moded GTO will beat it, if driven correctly.

Ditto. I had an 01 and an 04. Stock to stock the GTO will win.

They are approx the same HP and the L is a LOT heavier.
