So they can't figure out what's wrong with my car. The transmissision won't grab in drive, second or third, yet reverse and first gear will work. When you do put the car in drive you feel no give like when it clicks into gear. I have it at a local Chevy dealer and they pulled apart the tranny and they can't figure out what's wrong. That's what the guy told my wife. WTF? Anyone have any ideas?

I feel your pain man. My tranny acts up every now and then. Sometimes it acts like it doesnt know if it wants to up shift or downshift so it gets caught inbetween. No to mention when I put it into park lately the engine will rev up by about 300rpm but not all the time. Its just so rare I cant take it to the stealership, and I have no codes being thrown for them to even look into the history. Did your tranny act up at all before this incident? Before I put it awayy for the winter I'm going to take it in to get looked at, unless of course it becomes more consistant. Good luck!

I don't drive it that hard. I still have the original set of tires so that's a good sign I don't drive it hard, right? Plus it's only 10,000 miles on it. I know it can't be from me, I just don't drive it that hard. Plus, I rarely speed, unless someone provokes me :gears: .
Now the guys at the dhop can't even figure what's wrong? GRRRR! :madsign3:

I'll keep ya posted

TApplegate,

Definately keep me posted. Hopefully when it went out on you, you didnt get stranded for long. I really hope that Im not on my way to or from work or some other time sensitive event when and if it goes out completely. I'm actually hoping that my problems will get more consistant. That way I can get it resolved (with a new tranny?) and not have to worry if the next time will be the time it goes out completely. Keep me posted man.

Mine went out at a very very inopportune moment. I was making a left onto a toll raod and you have to cross a very busy road to get to it. It's a 2 lane road that I crossed over and I was stopped, waiting for traffic to clear for an opening, my opening came, I hit the accelerator and than the transmission let go. DAMN!!!
I went when there were 2 cars coming towards me, and it's 55MPH road, with a good distance between us. The tranny let go and I had just enough power to get over the road to safety. I kind of had to steer into the slope of the road to get more momentum. It was pretty scary becasue they didn't look like they were slowing down.
