A buddy sold me a set of 20s he had on his g8 but they are camaro wheels, and I’m curious to know what tire size I should go with ? Looks like he had 2 different sizes on them 245/35/20 on 2 of them and 235/35/20 on the other 2

At or near 25.6” tall is where you want to be. As far as width, whatever fits is dependent on wheel offset.
Camaro and Corvette wheels are 120mm x 5 lug pattern, so they fit the hubs. But, you need to be careful about the offset and back spacing to clear the fenders.

I'm not sure the hubs will fit. The lug pattern is correct, but I think you'll need to bore the inner hub to 69.6mm. These Holden -"Pontiacs" are a little odd when it comes to this. Still, these will look REALLY nice on that car-and if you have them PVD coated in Chrome or have them polished / coated...HOLY CRAP!

What about g8 vs gto do we share same hub and all that because that’s last car they where on was a g8 gt for sure
The G8 wheel bore is smaller than the GTO, so they need to be machined open to match the GTO hub bore size. The 5th and 6th gen Camaro wheels are the same as the G8, smaller than the GTO, so I’d say you are gonna have to have those wheels machined to the GTO hub bore of I believe, 69.5.

Maybe try to get your money back from your friend and possibly pursue the stock GTO 18s? They tend to be pricey but you can score deals from time to time.
You better personally measure your hub and any new wheels you intend to buy. I know the older C5 wheels use to fit. But those wheels were usually 18 or 19s. The new camaros, 2010 and later may be different.
Will get them bored and cleaned up I’m cool with the wheels wasn’t lookin for wheels tbh and he gave me what I believe is a deal on them

The actual hub (on the car) size is 69.5. The wheel hub (on the tire / rim / wheel - or whatever you want to call it) needs to be 69.6. Here's a link to the thread about wheel hub size...

he said "donkish." by adding the suffix -ish, the word was modified to mean "like, or characteristic of, donks." so, he wasn't calling it a donk. it was a short way of saying it would look like one.

tbh i've never liked the look, either. but, to each his own. take care of the car and be safe, man.

now that we're on the subject, i wouldn't mind cruising around in a 71 caprice. black. ls stroker swap with a 4l80 to haul that fat 🍑 around. not too much power. nice burbly exhaust note. no dubs tho. maybe some modestly sized restomod wheels that look just like the originals but that fit more modern tire sizes.

yeah.

Since we want to be LITERAL let’s play that.
First I did in fact say donkish which as clarified by Norbert basically nullified your entire attempt to look like a know it all and placed your foot firmly in your mouth.
Secondly Donk in its current car culture standing refers to ANY car running oversized hot wheels proportional looking wheels, be it cadillac caprice impala christ even a yugo. The pureist form orginated by taking “slabs” or lead sleds and raising them to stuff oversized wheels.
So “knowledge up” yourself and welcome to a forum don’t like opinions don’t post princess.

Donkish may be opinion but the fact he’ll be running gumband size tires to have clearance and at risk for bending the rims on pothole impacts since there’s basically no cushion is fact 🤷‍♂️
