Got my heart broken yesterday

Some A hole decided to lock up the brakes in the middle of a busy road to try and make their turn. This caused a chain reaction of cars slamming into each other. This was the result :cry:

I feel your pain and I'm SO SORRY to see this. If it's ANY consolation, this was my car on Friday March 11th, 2016. I left work early so I could head over to bowling and get in some practice...

...I didn't quite make the early practice...




Instead, some stupid C__NT was driving a used P.O.S. minivan with no working tail lights. She was stopping as she went over a hill. If her car was working properly, I would have seen her tail lights and slow. Instead I crested the hill to see her and another vehicle almost stopped. I blasted her and about 83 pounds of BONDO flew all over the place; wrecking my car

To add insult to injury, I got the ticket (because I couldn't stop in time - you must maintain control of your vehicle at all times).

I kept my car and bought a vandalized car from erepairables.com to fix mine.



I disassembled both cars and fixed mine....









The frame was repaired professionally and I had a shop paint it for me. I reassembled my car. By Memorial Day weekend, I had the car back up and running. A couple of buddies and I went for a quick cruise:



You could probably fix it, as it doesn't look nearly as bad as mine did. 🤞

I never surrendered the title, so it never got changed. All it says (on CarFax) is the car was involved in an accident.

I feel bad. Sorry for the loss man. People are nuts. I get people ride my arse all the time. Driving is a privilege not a right. Some people DO NOT know how to drive properly.

Sorry to see this. People really do suck. Gotta lock up my brakes because heaven forbid I miss a turn and am mildly inconvenienced.

My son has been driving almost a year - I did his 'Parent Taught Driver's Ed' course, and registered as his trainer and kept logs.

One thing I instilled in him is that if you screw up - miss your turn, forget to get over for your exit, then YOU take the responsiblity and go on down to the next one, u-turn or take a different route. This 'me first' BS that some drivers think life owes them is why there's so many dented shitboxes on the roads.

Sorry to see this. People and driving is the worst I’ve seen in my life over the last few years and it is getting worse. Law enforcement around me doesn’t do shit and this largely why people drive like they do. If there are no consequences to their actions, what is to stop them from driving like assholes? They tail gate, speed, and run stop lights and signs all day long out here. And God forbid they don’t have their phone in their hands at all times…

Hopefully you can save it but I am thinking insurance might total it. Good luck.

Good for you. Fnnnnnn hate people who do this crap. Slam brakes and cut three lanes on the highway.

Always see temp tags as some of the worst too.

The public is genuinely stupid and has no regard for inconveniencing anyone else.

Yeah, where I live every fourth car has an illegal migrant driving it. I had to hit the shoulder today or go into the trunk of car ahead of me. Last week, I was traveling around a big interstate curve at 70 with a stick of cars, and what do we see traveling about 35 MPH in the center of the curve, two migrants pointing and gawking out of the windows.

Christ, the whole stick crapped. I thought we would carem like bowling pins, but we were lucky and served through it. Watch yourself out there!

People suck.

My Goat lives in the garage most of the time. Last time I took it out there were 3 people that nearly hit me because they were stupid. Went back home and put it back in the garage. For some reason it always seems like people are dumber when I take her out...

No, there are plenty of people out there driving while dumb, you just notice them more when out with your baby. ;)

Can we get laws on the books that make it a jailable offense to being caught DWD? Then we can have citizens arrests run rampant and clean up the streets. :D

Actually, one of the really big things we could do is make it impossible to use your phone while driving. Nine times out of ten when I witness someone DWD I observe them with their phone in their hand or looking down at their lap.

The reason they dont is because emergency phone calls. How would one differentiate between being a passenger or driver? Also for any other modes of transportation (bicycle?)

True, I am more vigilant while in my Goat than, say, my Jeep.

And here in Utah it is illegal to do anything other than talk on your phone. Actually what the law says is that it's illegal to "manipulate a cell phone" while driving. My highway patrol buddy basically explained that if you can answer your phone and talk without taking your eyes off the road that's ok, but if they see you looking down or doing anything else (ie: texting) then they can get you for that. How much they actually enforce this I'm not sure though.

I am on my second gto myself. I found the second one in flagstaff AZ and flew out there and drove it home to Seattle. The new one had 19k on it. Let’s just say a lot less than the first one. I bought my car back for my motor and transmission plus my f1a-94. So try to make the best out of it. I am very glad you are ok. If I would have had someone in my passengers seat I would have the guilt of killing someone. So replace your car with the nicest one you can find and enjoy it.
