i'm putting a 04 LS1 into my 98 ss and i was wondering if anyone had comments or opinions for me.. let me know...

My Friend replaced his 89 Camaro original engine with a LS1 from a 2002 Transam. All the work was done down in Georga by a shop that has done many conversions. The only major work needed was to replace and reweld motor mounts and some other pieces that got in the way. They also had to have a custom intake made to fit the body style.
Overall he now has a port and polished 400 rwhp 89 Convertable.

I have some advice,DO NOT USE A GTO PCM PROGRAM.These things are ***ked.Use a late model F-Body program and make changes accordingly.

what is the pcm program??? and what do i need to do to use a fbody pcm.. the oil pan is different and i was able to take the oil pan from my block.. anything else i should be worried about?

Keep your factory wiring harness, you'll have to use your stock PCM. 98 is a different PCM from our 04 one. Just pop the motor in and thats it. Use your stock oil pan and accessories. (The valve covers and heads are different too)
