Been extremely busy with some family and work stuff and have not had much time to even be on this forum lately. I do not have SAP side extension installation instructions, but as noted, the rear section of the rockers are only held on with 3M tape. It’s pretty intuitive on how to attach that section with tape. Pull one piece of the tape film up over the rocker, bolt it up, then pull the strip and press firmly for a minute.

I’d caution you to remove the OEM tape and install new stuff as I had to remove mine and do just that when the decades old tape failed to adhere after a few hours and could not get it to attach again. Pulled them off, new tape, and all has been well for now. I also put a thin strip on the body as well to aid in adhering them.

SAP rockers were US GTO only.

OK thanks Ski. It appears the SAP install documentation may not have existed for the rockers, rear bumper and mufflers/tips, or was lost to history.

These clips are not used by the SAP rockers.

Here is a useful link I used in the past.

Do those clips need to be removed so the SAP skirt can sit flush or do the SAP skirts fit over top of those clips without any issues?

Do not need to remove the white clips, but probably could if you wanted to. Just don’t lose/break them as I don’t think those can be ordered anymore. I followed service manual for removing/replacing rockers (pg 8-240) with SAP, plus unique info learned from prior SAP threads. Also note that GTOG8TA has the black plastic rocker pins in stock, should any of yours become tired.

Reference Ski’s picture above…. quite useful for how to remove backing from tape as you install rockers. As always with tape, clean off mating surfaces with isopropyl alcohol to ensure best adhesion.

Note, in your case, it’s hard to say if unused 17 year old NOS tape should be removed from the rockers and replaced with minty new double sided tape? Seems Ski’s NOS experience shows should remove…I’d tend to agree.

Leave the plastic clips in. They act as a ledge for the lip of the rockers to rest on and give you a guide for how high to install them.

Another eBay SAP item for anyone looking—Crazy money for an SAP rear bumper, but not easily found. Looks to be cosmetic damage, likely easily fixed.

Some of this stuff is out of control price wise, but to each his or her own. It makes me appreciate my 2004 bumper mod much more and I think it looks better. I will admit that the SAP front bumper extension has kind of grown on me and I am seriously thinking about buying a GTOG8TA repro along with a splitter. Still teetering back and forth on it.

Agreed… some of the OEM SAP prices are getting stupid lately, but at least for the SAP rear bumper above, they are accepting offers.

If anyone is like me and has been looking for an OEM SAP bumper, or OEM SAP rockers, or OEM SAP whatever, I’ve just been posting things here that I find on eBay, to help folks out.

And agreed, GTOG8TA is a great SAP repro resource.

I just broke down and ordered their SAP extension. It has grown on me enough to go for it. As much as I would love an OEM piece for the sake of it being a factory part, I can’t stomach the pricing. I think Hawks has an OE extension on eBay for $1200 or best offer, FYI for someone wanting the GM part.

Nice. Please report back on the quality and how the install goes. The fitment on these used to be sub-par, and hope that's changed.

Right out of the box, it definitely needs some prep work to care of some imperfections from manufacturing. There was no protective packaging inside the box, meaning the fascia was placed in the box as is and shipped. The box survived and so did the part from what I saw. The threaded nut serts are a good idea, but no hardware or double sided tape is included. The shop paining my front bumper will prep, paint and install it so I will get some feedback from them on it and update the thread.

Dropped it off at the paint shop this morning. The guy was kinda “meh” about it but he isn’t a big fan of aftermarket parts to begin with. My front bumper and Catera door handles are done. He said to check with him on Friday. I will stop in tomorrow morning and talk some more with him. He had UPS, FedEx and an LTL truck all delivering when I showed up, so there wasn’t much time to talk.
