Should arrive at Hoover dam around 11:00 give or take a few for photo ops.
I'm thinking 1-1/2 to play tourist and maybe one of the tours. I'm up for just about any of the tours, so what the majority prefers, count me in.
Please note that there is a $7.00 parking fee and a fee for each one of the tours. See link for info.

For not knowing the area, this is what I was kinda thinking. Maybe a local would like to chime in?
Not too long yet not that short was the idea.

HWY 93 to get there early enough and maybe do the power plant tour. Northshore Rd & Lake Mead Blvd (tool road) on the way back for more of a cruise.

Be back before 2pm to clean up and crash poker tournament.

Thoughts, input, suggestions???

For the way out to hoover dam, you may want to consider taking the I-15 south from Palace Station, then get on the I-215 east, then hop on the 93/95 to Boulder City as the original post shows. The road is a little smoother and better than taking the 93/95 on the north side of town.

The way back looks fun, but don't get caught speeding inside Lake Mead Rec area. There is a "toll" of $10 per car to enter the Lake Mead Rec area and it is good for 1-7 days.
