You think they're rare to see in the US? In the UK we only got about 300 of each model (5.7 and 6.0), fortunately we have a website that uses tje government figures to at least give an approximate idea of how many are still on the road.

Have had mine 10 years and other than driving to / from meets, I've only ever seen 1 other on the road...
I was surprised in recent top gear episode in which they gave those numbers. I had thought that for all the attention the Monaro received in previous top gear episodes and so forth, that they had a bigger presence in the uk. also interesting that only 2/3 are left. wish we had precise numbers like that in the US.

It's a good website, but sadly it's still based on data collected by a government organisation, which means it's a bit inconsistent and there's plenty of typos etc!

Try searching for Holden as a brand and you get this mess, most of them don't even have a model name

The ‘05 PBM was my first one I bought new off showroom floor on 2005. Sold it 4 years later with 13K on odometer. The ‘06 Torrid Red is my retirement gift to myself. Just got delivered 5 weeks ago. 1 owner 27K miles. Original owner took phenomenal care of it. No rips or tears in seats, clean underneath, clean engine bay, as well as the car itself. Not my daily driver since I work and train Bomb dogs, so my Tahoe is my daily. This one is here to stay.

I like the black one better but TR was my second choice.
Congrats and good luck.

I like the black one; I understand the purpose of the bra, but I dont care for it's appearance on the car.

On the red one, does it have a single, center hood scoop or is that just a trick of the light and angle? I like it.

Yeah, I wasn't thrilled with the bra back then, which is why i only used the hood edge part...didn't have the $$ for a clear bra back then. Ant the red has dual scoops. Just angle and lighting.

I cannot cite my exact source or provide the exact numbers. It is one of the two databases used for industry to have this information. I am a data analyst with access to the database.

This count is from vehicle registration data for the US.

You know you scored a good one when the bumper clips aren't broken.

the numbers make sense, about 25,000 out of a bit over 40,000 total made. low 60s% seems about right for survival rate. interesting!

I'm sure that number is much higher than many thought it was.

I saw a private party GTO ad recently, might have been on ebay, maybe facebook, i don't remember. Seller's description really played up the "rare" card, and he claimed less than 10,000 total were left.

Maybe in that particular year, lol.
