JasonFRC was able to find my oil leak today. I have a cracked oil pan.

$315 for a replacement from the dealer.

Sigh.

Anyone aware of any aftermarket pans for the GTO?

I'm with HRJ...

Why not just get it welded? It should be no problem at all for any decent welding shop.

Anyone have any suggestions, then?

FYI, everyone, it wasn't cracked by an impact. I believe it was cracked by overtorquing one of the bolts.

Figured as much but thought I'd ask any way as a retorical question.

I did find a 2004 GTO oil pan on Car-Part.com for $185 from AAA Auto Parts.
Hope that is of some help.

Sorry to hear that. I suppose the good news is now that you know what it is, you're one step closer to having the car back in running order.

Yeah - it only leaks under boost, which I've been avoiding (since the car isn't tuned).

Well, mostly avoiding. :gr_devil:

more proof that turbos are bad for you goats. maggies are better.
[/sarcasm]

At least you found out what it is. you will be very happy with it once its all done, so no fretting!

let this be a lesson for everyone else though, major projects should be done in the winter so you dont miss out on prime driving weather :(

Did you order a pan yet Mike? Or you gonna try and repair it?

New pan is on the way. I'm going to tap it for the oil return as well, while it's out.

Then - I'm eliminating the PCV. Or at least seriously modifying it and ditching the janky solenoid that STS provides.
