Nope. Lots of folks want to, though. Main problem is the lack of an intake.

But I also wonder if it will live up to all the hype. It won't be plug-n-play, and it was designed to be a low-end torque truck motor.

that and you'd have to run a small cam

The heads flow pretty well on the intake side but are gonna need some work for the exhaust side, and its all gonna depend on the cam you run with it.

Padre,

You hit the nail on the head!

One thing my friends at GMPP keep telling me is these heads were/are not designed to replace high end performance heads like the C5R or LS7 pieces. Nor are they an easy drop in swap like the AFR/ETP/DART aftermarket heads. These heads require some thinking and extra attention to detail that may be a bit misleading when all that's talked about is the initial low cost.

For example, the exhaust port design leaves a lot to be desired. It'll probably need some fluffing up to get good. (additional cost)

The cam profiles that are currently popular will not work with these heads. If you choose the wrong design, the benefit of the heads will probably be lost.

The piston to valve issues are compounded due to the larger intake valve and relocated valve centerlines. Flycutting will be a necessary evil. (more cost)

The valvetrain is basic, and so basic it'll need to be tossed if anything decent sized is used. (more money)

Then the whole intake deal. It's coming, but not soon! ($$$?)

What I believe got everyone so turned on about was the super low price and the big flow numbers permiating through the LSX forums. Especially with all the "pimping" that goes on at a certain site. ;)

I'll have a lot more details on these heads as soon as the next generation hits my door. They were promised this week but you know how slow GM works sometimes. ;)

We appreciate your expertise and sharing the knowledge, Ed.

I'm thinking about an L92 for my old Silverado. Build a low compression motor with a forged bottom end, maybe coat the heads and pistons (from Bob @ PP), and slap a Procharger on it with a lot of boost. And I'll be calling you for the cam. :)

Then again, I might be calling you for a cam for my 408. Now that my buddy Robert has his shop and dyno, we've got lots of toys to play with. :turbonaug

Even though it is designed to bolt on, the Caddy intake is not the same as the one GMPP is going to release to the public. Supposed to be different than that unit.... I will verify this however....

Why would you want to do that to your Silverado :stickpoke :gr_devil: ;)

I would never do any such thing to my 06 especially with it's 4.10 gears.

Yep. :judge: My Silverado is a '99 with 105k+ miles and a 5.3 Vortec. Boring. We're going to rebuild it and make it fun. :turbonaug

And Rob, I hear you've got some new toys on the way. :secret: Talk about fun...
