Maybe try Nitto drag radials if they still make 18’s.
Are we talking about a straight line traction tire or a handling tire?

I had 285/35/18 Nitto NT555R tires on the back of my 522rwhp GTO. NOT the G2s, NOT the RR. Just NT555R, they work great as long as you get them warm and air them down. You're not going to stick any tire at 30psi.

I've been pretty happy with my Toyo R888s. 275s on the rear of my 06 have held up well with low 600s to the wheels.

Straight line I'm trying to get WOT data for Brock but it keeps spinning. I'm doing pulls in high 3rd and 4th gear right now
Is it cold where you are at? That could have a lot of impact on tire grip even with really good tires. Try warming the tires up first and look for some fairly fresh blacktop pavement. Also lowering the tire pressure can help.

I've been happy with my Nitto NT05Rs. But I wouldn't run them if it was below 50 degrees out, and well into the 70s and above is much better.

have any suspension mods?

3rd and 4th gear data is ok. for some reason higher gears will run a tenth or so richer than lower gears... but it's using the same MAF curve and VE table, so...

No nothing crazy just replaced all the suspension parts with pedders, put in drag bags and took out all the rubber and did poly instead

might need to go with a higher spring rate in the rear if sticky tires doesn't do it for you. pedders spring rates aren't all that, tbh.

I got them several years ago to fix the factory squat and it was a complete package on sale so I just went with them thats all

that's fine, but now you got a bit more oomph than you did before you started your build. with how these suspensions work, the added torque will make you squat even harder and you can lose traction.

just something to consider.

I'm running NTO5rs 285/45/18
They hook and book at the track or on the street. Pushing 1000ftlbs to the wheels on nitrous.

I can dead hook from a 20 roll in the summer on a good black top.

Yes its been getting pretty cold here lately, but I have aired them down ill give Nittos a look.

They were 350 a piece. Also need drag bags in the back to keep it from rubbing

Damn I ran 6.12 in the 1/8th with way less than 1000 ft/lbs and had to pull timing down low to get down the track on 15” drag radials. What times are you running with that beast?

It does pretty good for where i live, 1.5 60fts 6.50s to the 8th, 10.60s on the big end. Nitrous 383 on a big boy shot, I'm in Colorado where the DA can be 6000+ one day and 9000+ the next. Hard to keep cars consistent up here. Everything is a second or so slower here especially NA/ nitrous cars. Takes alota nitrous to go fast with the DAs we have.

I have the new 555R2's....they seem to do pretty well. I can leave on the street on 2-3psi and they will hook. With no burn out, from a 45 roll..it'll still spin tho. Anything higher than that and it hooks. But thats better than regular tires spinning from a 80 roll. 45 roll on regular tires was dangerous.
The new 555r2 is supposedly the same compound as the nto5r but with a street tread that can be driven in rain. I really like them. I dont remember if I got the 275's or 285's

I don't see a 383 with nitrous making 1000 ft/lbs. Have a dyno graph? That's the most impressive 383 on nitrous number I've ever seen. How big of a shot? I haven't seen a 383 LS make much over 500 rwhp NA. I went 6.58 and 10.2x on a 150 shot with a 408 15 years ago, but I was only 632 rwhp and less torque than that. I don't doubt your times at all just the 1000 ft/lbs dyno number. I hope to get to the 1/4 mile track next year, should go very low in the 9's.

Current combo is a 377 with 20 psi peak boost so torque isn't even it's game. Never been on a dyno, but trap speed suggests at least 800 rwhp. Torque might only be 600 though if I were to guess. I'm making more power now then I did the last time I was at the track. Nothing open here now obviously with below freezing temps and a blizzard on the way...lol. Not sure what changes I'll make for next year. Thinking at least a bigger blower f1a-94 most likely, but haven't ruled out an f1x and 4l80e conversion yet if I feel like spending that kind of money.

I found my old dyno from the 408 w/150 shot from around 2006. Unfortunately now I remember we couldn't get a tach signal or torque reading. We didn't want to keep making pulls with nitrous so all I have is a hp at mph graph. The two lines are both hp for two different pulls. No torque reading.

Max effort 383, 13.8:1 242/258 @.700 lift and great flowing heads, think they are 320cfm @.650 lift, only thing stock in the car is the M6 and the center section.
On a 300 shot setting up for a 400 but im having cylinder distribution issues with my intake. nitrous makes stupid tourqe numbers in the lower rpms. I bring it on @2800rpm.
It's never been on a dyno but I bet it makes north of 850 to the tire on the current jets. I have no doubt in my mind its making 1000ftlbs peak on the hit. It's really not hard to do with nitrous. I made 550whp on a heads cam stock stroke ls1 on a 100 shot and 680 peak ftlbs.
Looking to rent a dyno sometime this spring.
