Maybe try Nitto drag radials if they still make 18’s.
Straight line I'm trying to get WOT data for Brock but it keeps spinning. I'm doing pulls in high 3rd and 4th gear right nowAre we talking about a straight line traction tire or a handling tire?
have any suspension mods?Straight line I'm trying to get WOT data for Brock but it keeps spinning. I'm doing pulls in high 3rd and 4th gear right now
No nothing crazy just replaced all the suspension parts with pedders, put in drag bags and took out all the rubber and did poly insteadhave any suspension mods?
3rd and 4th gear data is ok. for some reason higher gears will run a tenth or so richer than lower gears... but it's using the same MAF curve and VE table, so...
might need to go with a higher spring rate in the rear if sticky tires doesn't do it for you. pedders spring rates aren't all that, tbh.No nothing crazy just replaced all the suspension parts with pedders, put in drag bags and took out all the rubber and did poly instead
I got them several years ago to fix the factory squat and it was a complete package on sale so I just went with them thats allmight need to go with a higher spring rate in the rear if sticky tires doesn't do it for you. pedders spring rates aren't all that, tbh.
that's fine, but now you got a bit more oomph than you did before you started your build. with how these suspensions work, the added torque will make you squat even harder and you can lose traction.I got them several years ago to fix the factory squat and it was a complete package on sale so I just went with them thats all
I'm running NTO5rs 285/45/18Hey guys I'm looking for a good sticky DOT approved tire for a 18 inch rim
Yes its been getting pretty cold here lately, but I have aired them down ill give Nittos a look.Is it cold where you are at? That could have a lot of impact on tire grip even with really good tires. Try warming the tires up first and look for some fairly fresh blacktop pavement. Also lowering the tire pressure can help.
I've been happy with my Nitto NT05Rs. But I wouldn't run them if it was below 50 degrees out, and well into the 70s and above is much better.
They were 350 a piece. Also need drag bags in the back to keep it from rubbingYes its been getting pretty cold here lately, but I have aired them down ill give Nittos a look.
Damn I ran 6.12 in the 1/8th with way less than 1000 ft/lbs and had to pull timing down low to get down the track on 15” drag radials. What times are you running with that beast?I'm running NTO5rs 285/45/18
They hook and book at the track or on the street. Pushing 1000ftlbs to the wheels on nitrous.
I can dead hook from a 20 roll in the summer on a good black top.
It does pretty good for where i live, 1.5 60fts 6.50s to the 8th, 10.60s on the big end. Nitrous 383 on a big boy shot, I'm in Colorado where the DA can be 6000+ one day and 9000+ the next. Hard to keep cars consistent up here. Everything is a second or so slower here especially NA/ nitrous cars. Takes alota nitrous to go fast with the DAs we have.Damn I ran 6.12 in the 1/8th with way less than 1000 ft/lbs and had to pull timing down low to get down the track on 15” drag radials. I don't see a 383 with nitrous making 1000 ft/lbs. Have a dyno graph? That's the most impressive 383 on nitrous number I've ever seen. How big of a shot? I haven't seen a 383 LS make much over 500 rwhp NA. I went 6.58 and 10.2x on a 150 shot with a 408 15 years ago, but I was only 632 rwhp and less torque than that. I don't doubt your times at all just the 1000 ft/lbs dyno number. I hope to get to the 1/4 mile track next year, should go very low in the 9's.It does pretty good for where i live, 1.5 60fts 6.50s to the 8th, 10.60s on the big end. Max effort 383, 13.8:1 242/258 @.700 lift and great flowing heads, think they are 320cfm @.650 lift, only thing stock in the car is the M6 and the center section.I don't see a 383 with nitrous making 1000 ft/lbs. Current combo is a 377 with 20 psi peak boost so torque isn't even it's game. Never been on a dyno, but trap speed suggests at least 800 rwhp. Torque might only be 600 though if I were to guess. I'm making more power now then I did the last time I was at the track. Nothing open here now obviously with below freezing temps and a blizzard on the way...lol. Not sure what changes I'll make for next year. Thinking at least a bigger blower f1a-94 most likely, but haven't ruled out an f1x and 4l80e conversion yet if I feel like spending that kind of money.
I found my old dyno from the 408 w/150 shot from around 2006. Unfortunately now I remember we couldn't get a tach signal or torque reading. We didn't want to keep making pulls with nitrous so all I have is a hp at mph graph. The two lines are both hp for two different pulls. No torque reading.
