Hey..I got some logs cyclone chris did on my car. It shows a lot of knock down low when I'm just lightly accelerating..but hardly any or none when I get on it. Only thing differ from when I got her tuned is now I'm running the stock airbox and i'm running spintech mufflers instead of the muffler delete.

Here is the first one:

2nd One:

And here is after we put the stock tune back in.

Any recommendations?

Tat, I wonder if it's the gas you may be using. Not sure how they compare... especially using 10% ETHANOL.

Last week I put in 10gals of 87 and 6gals of 93 by mistake along with a thing of Octane booster.

The car was acting all crazy, and my KR was way up higher then yours, and occured a whole lot more too. Since there is no low octane table for the PCM to fall back on, I decided to just put the stock tune back in, and the knock disappeared due to the fact that the stock tune had a low timing "Low Octane Table"

Anyway, I wonder what we would see if you used BP or Chevron gas rather then Enmark. I believe we both had BP 93 when we got tuned by Formato.

Hmmm..could be. I've been using Enmark 93 since it's close to my house. Although I've noticed they have taken the 10% ethanel off all the pumps. Not like that means anything.

ethanol has a higher ocatane than gas...the idea that it can cause more knock than straight gas confuses me.

Dude... shell is one of the worst gases you can probably use. Jeremy told us that some guy did tests from different gas stations and found that Chevron has the highest octane rating then anyone else.

Personally I prefer Sunoco 94, BP Ultimate, Or Chevron 93

Your IAT sensor isn't working right or you live in a desert. It is using the 136* IAT in the calculations and leaning your car out. Then when you enter PE its fat enough to be ok. Check your IAT wiring.

Where would I be with 171 degrees IAT??? check out the log. lol

When we have 95* temps outside + heat soak... it adds up.

yeah I have noticed when I put Speedway or Shell gas in my car I get knock that I never got before with BP gas.. so my car now only get BP gas.. just run the gas out and get different gas before you do any tuning. .thats just my opinion thou..

Wait a minute, this thread looks familiar! You must have an A4 and drive up hills in 4th.

I took out 2* of timing up to 2200rpms. That reduced my 6,7,&8 degree knock detections down to an occasional 1 or 2. PM me. I am still working to correct this. Maybe we can work together by comparing notes.

Did you guys open the log and look at it? His IAT goes from 170-136*. Its using that in the fueling calcs and making it waaay lean. Its got nothing to do with bad gas.

I do not think it is bad gas or the IAT because his logs look identical to mine. I have multiple logs that look identical to his using many different tanks of Shell 93 gas and with the IAT reading below 100*.

136-170* IAT is not normal.
