I just put Amsoil synthetic lube in my diff Tuesday, and nowit makes a groaning, or deep grinding noise. Is that what you're talking about, or am I in bigger trouble? It only happens when I'm turning, or in reverse. If this is the noise you're talking about, why would this happen?

I just put some Lucas additive in my diff, and it's still grinding in reverse. Going to the dealership as soon as I get some Amsoil 75W-140, and have them put it in the new diff. (I heard they can't fix rear ends, they just replace them) Hopefully Tuesday.

Do a search of this forum on "Friction modifier" and you will find a treasure trove of information on what is good for this diffy... and what the chatter you hear is.

Lucas isn't a FM...it is a stability modifier.
