Picked up a Nikon D750 to replace my aging D300. Remarkable low light performance. Finally have a full frame body. The D300 will make a fine backup, and a good "walk around" with the surprisingly good Nikkor 18-200 fitted.
The real story is the new lenses. I own a Nikon 28-70 F2.8 and an older, but superb 80-200 f2.8, but purchased a Tamron 24-70 f2.8 and 70-200 f2.8, not for the cost saving, but because they are superior to the Nikon glass. Better resolution, lower chromatic aberration, and the vibration reduction lets me shoot handheld in candlelight with the D750. Very, very impressed with these lenses, and I've been a diehard Nikkor user since forever.
