Hello All,

I recently installed an Autometer electrical oil pressure gauge. When the engine is cold the oil pressure reads normally. When I accelerate the gauge slowly and smoothly moves up to around 65-70 PSI and when I come back down to idle, it smoothly moves back down to 35 PSI and remains there.

Interestingly, when the car has been driven for about 20-30 mninutes the gauge reading often becomes very erratic and just bounces all over the place. Sometimes the needle drops to 0 like there is no signal being generated at all. In this situation, if I blip the throttle, it will usually jump back up to 35 PSI and settle there........that is until I accelerate again and then the needle once again bounces all over the place.

Does this simply sound like a faulty sender? I haven't had any check engine lights come on.

I'll check the ground and other connections to make sure all looks good. Thanks for the suggestion.
