Met up with a new friend last night who has an 05 GTO. He went to the track with the temps in the low 70s, humidity not bad at all, 600 ft above sea level. Pulled off a 1.98 60 and ran it to a whopping 13.7 @ 100 mph. Said he nailed every shift right at redline. How in the hell are you guys trapping 106+ mph stock in these freaking behemoths??

shifting at redline is the problem, causing it to be way out of the powerband. shift 6000rpm should do the trick

That adn did he let the car cool off after he got to the track. Heat soak is a bad problem and will slow the car down alot.
