4l60e heavily modified, as in what? I think no matter what you do the sun shell and planets are not going to hold that kind of power. I’ve seen the sun shell (beast) spread apart around 700hp.
I agree, lol.

Back story is I bought this car new in 05. Built it up (1st time) in 07. Hung onto it till 2010 when I sold it to to help start my business. Friend bought it and he started killing tranny's left and right. He finally had the one built that's in the car now. I don't know exactly what he had done to it. He basically said "everything" just short of a manual valve body and trans brake.

I bought the car back in Nov of 16. Still has that transmission in it. For now it'll stay there as the engine gets completed, broke in, etc. Plan to yank it out and replace either with a 4L80 or a TH400. I'll do the rear end with a G Force 9" setup at the same time.

That's gonna be a fun hell raiser. What is the end goal for numbers? Hp/tq

I initially set the target number at 1K to the wheels. I've had several deep conversations with Bill P, the owner of the king of kings, "Ethyl". A gto that made over 1200.

Based on his experience and the headaches he went through, I'm regrouping a bit. I hope to run this in the 900-1000 range at the flywheel. The rest will be what it is once it hits pavement. This IS a street car. A stupid one for the most part, but a street car. My end game is to be able to drive this anywhere I want whenever I want. I want it as solid as any modern production OEM performance vehicle.

So, we go slow, we go methodical. For where I live, I'll be able to lay plenty of hate on the street. Not too much going on around here. The track is a different story, we do have some heavy hitters, but they trailer stuff everywhere.

Fun!

The machined pieces look fantastic.

Granted everything I do on my GTO is of a non-existent budget. But I agree with your statement of an enjoyable "street car". When you have to trailer it places rather than driving / enjoying it... then its not a "street car" anymore.

That said, simply amazed by the work your putting into it.

Fantastic build... I don't want to make you nervous (just aware) but did you have the cylinders sonic tested for thickness?
http://www.chevytalk.org/fusionbb/showtopic.php?tid/289661/
That was from the first version of the LSX blocks. The cylinder walls were too thin. Since then, they have gone back and redesigned/strengthened the area of failure. If he has a 2nd version LSX block then he should be good to go without worry.

The 270 duration on your cam...what lift is that measured at?

In for results! I have a similar build as yours. You have way more cam and lift (especially with the 1.8:1 rockers) than I do though. I’m expecting close to 1000hp at the crank with around 13-16lbs boost on E85. With the 1” blower spacer that has nitrous spray bars I’m shooting for 1200-1300hp crank. Awesome build!
