I have the 30-0334. Displays afr though but works on canbus as well
I thought about that one, but on my vette the OBD2 port points right down to your feet, plus I want to run an aeroforce scan gauge which adds even more length. I was looking at purchasing an OBD2 extender, but I think going with the 30-4110 is better.

I did really want a purple one. I have a thing for purple. I had a purple 97 GTP for a loooong time. 10 years lol. Rust got the better of that car unfortunately.
I had this thing on some homeade coilovers slammed on its nuts lol

I was really disappointed this car got so rusty cause I had some big plans for it. I already had a turbo kit that was proven capable of 600hp at the wheels. 95# injectors, ported heads, double roller chain, every single piece of suspension BMR offered and new Bilsteins, built trans. I had just about everything to do this car except for the GMRacing 1" drive chain and diff. It would've been one badass car for a GP lol.
HA! Another former G/P guy!!!

I loved mine too, which was a '99 GTP. I didin't have the build you did, but my mod list was pretty O.K. I would have preferred orange, but the closest color was red...so I settled for that instead...

This time, I'm doing to the GTO, what I feel should have come from the factory (a blower, Brembo's and almost anything you could have gotten on a CTS-V...except better, because it's on a GTO!!!)

I'm Looking forward to moreof your posts!

In case you were interested, this is my thread for my current build --->

I always hated red-on everything in general. Not sure why I bought a red IROC lol. So many red GTP's though lol. I ended up buying a 98 4 door for 500 bucks that needed a balancer and plugs/wires.

I also had a bronze 99 GTP. I bought this car for 500 bucks twice. First time it needed a hood/bumper and some misc stuff. Fixed that and drove it for awhile. Sold it for 2K if I remember right and bought it a couple years later for 500 bucks again after the trans went south. Put a trans in that I don't even remember where it came from. Then a couple months later the engine started knocking. Got my 500 bucks back out of it the way it sat. It was a 293K mile pile of crap lol

The motor out of my purple car ended up in this super clean Buick I bought for 800 bucks. I've had a 3800 car for like 13 years straight now or something, maybe 14 lol

So you could say "former GP" guy but I still have a Wbody car yet
But anyway. Enough with the 3800 junk. I'll check out your thread

Well started buying some LSA stuff. I'll slowly be buying as I can find deals. I'm in no hurry and will take my time to find stuff cheaper. The plan is to keep it on pump gas 91 with a DW300 and 80# injectors. Putting stock manifolds in it. Headers are annoying and they hit the steering shaft so those are going. Going to pull the 243's and do the LS3 heads with Hinson drop mounts so I can clear the stock hood. The LS9 cam will come out in favor of something a little more aggressive. The goals aren't extreme at only 600whp which I think is plenty doable even on stock manifolds and 91 octane. I do have meth stuff it needs a little extra.

Only thing I have so far is a CTS-V lid, which I ironically bought on Feb 15 which is exactly one year after buying the car lol.

But I'll keep a running tally here of stuff needed to make the swap
2/15-CTS-V lid with a good intercooler brick and spare reinforced brick-$600
3/7-5364 Stock take off rec port heads-$500
3/7-Stock LSA 56lb injectors-$160
4/21-Cobalt MAP sensor-$44
4/21-Manifold gaskets-$40
4/21-Booster hose-$17
4/21-Fuel rail-driverside inlet-$200
4/21-LS9 Headgaskets-$100
4/21-IAT breakout harness-$24
4/21-Blower oil-$24
4/21-LSA-$1389
4/21-Olson belt kit-$379
4/21-DW300C pump-$156
4/21-Glanzer Performance coil brackets-$78

Stuff not needed to make the swap
2/25-Hendrix strut tower brace to clear the blower-$312
3/1-TSP headers-$515. Not a fan of my Speed Engineering headers
4/21-Bassani catback-$880

Got some parts for the LSA swap. Ordered a Hendrix strut bar to clear the blower. Thomas had called and said it may be several weeks before I see it which I told him is fine. I'm glad he called instead of saying nothing and me ending up calling them to see what the deal is.

Got the TSP headers from 2006GTOCGM. I'm not a fan of my Speed Engineering heads hitting the steering shaft and having to cut the factory exhaust. I haven't read of any clearance issues with these and I can get a bolt in cat back.

Got a pair of factory rec port 5364 heads from a local guy complete with rockers. Just need a good cleanup and I'll probably do .660 springs in them. Definitely doing a trunion kit and I thought about getting the nice shaft mount that BTR came out with recently.

Also got a set of stock 56 lb injectors. I was going to get 80's or 95's but found these for 150 bucks and the injector calculator on FIClinic says 56lb injectors should be able to make 850hp at the crank on pump gas at 90% duty cycle so that's good enough for now. If I decide to try E85 later they'll have to get replaced. We'll go down that road if we get there.

Been trying to find a blower for around a grand but haven't had any luck. Probably gonna have to nut up and pay the 1400 everybody is asking.

Recommendations on catback? I'd prefer it to be relatively quiet-I'm not much a fan of loud exhaust. I like the sound of the Bassani. I also like the Borla but I'm not sold on the exhaust tips.

Ordered more stuff. Will upload pics as it shows up. Got an LSA blower, LS9 headgaskets, stock ZL1 rail with driverside inlet, booster hose, Cobalt map sensor, intake gaskets, DW300 pump, blower oil, IAT breakout harness, Olson belt adapter drive, and coil spacer brackets to clear the fuel rail from Glanzer Performance. Also ordered a Bassani catback to finish up the exhaust. Hopefully between the headers and catback it fits decent.

Been doing a lot of looking at cams. I've been thinking an off the shelf BTR PDS stage 2 or 3. They are supposed to make similar power but the 3 has a little rougher idle which I may like. My LS9 cam would be okay I'm sure but I'd rather do the cam while the heads are off and I can get the lifters out.

Probably TSP's $300 dual spring 660 kit as well.

Little bit of an update. I ended up selling just about everything I had for the LSA swap. I had the opportunity to buy a turbo GP like I had always wanted so I jumped on that. I may end up getting rid of it but figured until I actually had one I'd always have the urge to get one and would never stop looking for one.

Originally a supercharged GTP. Blower was taken off and has a Stattama turbo setup like what I had for my purple GTP, just has a Turbonetics turbo instead of a Stattama turbo. Built engine with 10:1 comp. Fresh rebuilt trans with 1" chain. Made 523/612 at the tires on 23lbs of boost with a good size boost leak. It moves out for a Grand Prix. It'd outrun the GTO with ease

Both are away for the winter now

So that leaves me with trying to decide on a direction to go with the car. I don't think I want to get another LSA. I think I'd rather do a Procharger or Maggie blower. A Procharger would be my preferred but a Maggie would be cleaner and easier to work on overall which is a huge plus in my book.

I'd kinda rather make the car handle/ride and stop good over making tons of power. I'd prefer a well rounded car, not something with a zillon hp that drives and rides like crap.

Bit of an update on this. Spring of 22 I went through the suspension. New Super Pro strut mounts. New radius bushings, all new bushings in the back, rear sway. Pedders drop springs and what not. Got most of it from Andrew.

Then ripped out the annoying Speed Engineering headers and threw stock manifolds back in it with Magnaflow midpipes and a Magnaflow catback. Sounds much much better.

Most recent endeavor is LSA swap stuff. Found a set of 823 heads at the junkyard from a Denali that ate a piston. Bent a couple valves but damage wasn't terrible. Replaced the bent valves and lapped em and we'll see how it works out. I have less than 200 bucks in the heads.

BTR shaft rocker kit. TSP .660 springs and their stage 2 blower cam.

Got the car running but seems to have coolant flow issues. The new water pump doesn't seem to be moving coolant through the radiator. Not sure what that's about. Swapped the old pump back on and runs cooler but still having issues.

Aside from that also having a hell of a time trying to get the air out of the intercooler system. Anybody know where to get the Maggie reservoir? I'm using this as I've seen other people do and I hate this stupid piece of crap lol

Other than those two issues it seems to idle pretty decent for not being tuned yet

Small update

Overall engine shot. 99% complete at this point. Only thing I have left is pcv/catch can setup I believe and to wire up the flex fuel sensor. Not super worried about it right now though. Car will run out of pump and injector both on ethanol.

Ended up using this little Edlebrock reservoir for the intercooler. I tried to use that in line filler but all I ended up doing was wasting a couple hours and leaving a mess all over my garage floor lol. This thing was easy peasy. Bled the system in 2 minutes. I also replaced the in and out of the blower with about 6-8" of clear hose so that there's a "sight glass" to verify there is coolant at the blower.

Coldcase rad from Andrew cause why not

Intercooler pump mounted on the driverside behind the fog light area. I removed the screws where the factory power steering cooler mounts to the bottom of the core support and drilled it out to use nut inserts to hold the bottom of the heat exchanger. Top is held in by 2 bolts through the crash bar.

Also some more NOS goodness

This a bit concerning. This thing has had a clunk in it ever since I got it put back together. There is one spot in the diff that has a lot more noise than just the normal backlash. I do have a spare diff from an 80K mile car but was hoping I could get it rebuilt before having to put it in the car
