I am thinking about doing gears and I was wanting some input. With my experience in changing gears they have been a big bang for the buck. Just wondering what I can expect to gain with say some 3.91s. My car is making 440rwhp in an Auto with a yankss3400. Just wondering if some of you can let me know your gains in ET especially 60ft and 660ft.
I was also wondering what you guys paid for the gears and install.
I did a search but since my PC is down I am having to post on my Treo.
Thanks for all input

You shouldn't run out of the power range with 3.91; 4.10 or 4.56 i'd say so.

PM padre...he is running a stalled auto with 3.91 for his results.
My car had bolt ons when I put in 3.91s
04 M6. Went down by a little over half second, but I put Nitto 245 drs on at same time and a bit of the gain was in going from 2.0-2.1 to 1.8-1.9 6o foot s at the time.

I have a 3200 stall and 3.91 gears and I love them. Gained .2 and 2 mph in the 1/4. The gears take away the 'slipping' feel of the convertor in the lower rpm range because you move so fast thru the rpm's. Highway cruising at 80 [email protected], but then again, I rarely do alot of highway driving.
