I was forced to drive my '04 GTO in the rain this morning. I had scheduled an appointment to have the "thunk in the trunk" fixed, but their Pontiac tech had called in sick. I rescheduled for tomorrow morning, but it will still be raining.

Anyway, what I noticed when I got home was an area on the roof and another area on the hood where the water was not "beading". It was just pooled in flat sheets. These were fairly large areas, too.

Isn't this an indication that the car needs to be waxed? Why are just these two areas affected? The water is beading beautifully on the rest of the car, and the dealer detailed the car for me just three weeks ago. Let me know if I should apply another coat of wax. I will do it this weekend. Thanks.

Better to do the wax job yourself, then trust someone else. But I'm anal that way. Three words for you: Zaino..Zaino..Zaino. Make it shine.
